VGA 2011!

Time for another VGA show! All the cheesiness and awrkwardness you love!

So far, they've showed a new Nuaghty Dog game, The Last of Us. Looks promising. Zelda lost an award to Batman. Sweet Nintendrone tears. Let's see who else gets awards this year.

Also, be sure to post YOUR game of the year. Skyrim here!

It was an amazing game. HOPEFULLY, developers have taken note of its success and do their best with their own game adaption projects. I'm looking at you, spiderman. You too transformers.

Hmm, I think it does have to be Skyrim, although Uncharted 3 was a close one.

I have to agree with you there. I'm not usually into Marvel or DC superhero games because most of them tend to be just meh to me. But Arkahm City along with Arkham Asylum are truly just amazing games. I kind of wish we had more DC superhero games like this.

Uhh, terrible event tbh. I couldn't even watch it to begin with, it was all "this isn't available in your country", so I had to hunt around to find a stream. If all American game events are like this, maybe it's better if I'm excluded.

- Emo transformers
- Stereotypical black guy
- Cow?
- Live tea bagging
- Random, non-game related rock band sandwiched in
- Charlie Sheen
- MGS Rising is some sort of cancelled project picked up by Platinum, lol...

I liked the Diablo III trailer but that's about it.  My game of the year is Dark Souls.

MW3 as Best Shooter? I don't know how to feel about this...

Luckily, it's the only gaming awards show we have. Or perhaps, unluckily. The VGAs have always been a joke to me, but they were a bit more unbearable this year.

That transformers trailer wasn't emo though...

My game of the year was Deus Ex: Human Revolution.  I really think it deserves more credit than it gets.

I can safely say that MGS Rising is kinda worth missing. I mean, compared to 2009 and now, the newer game looks terrible, gameplay and graphics wise. It also seems like that Platinum is taking away the stealth concept, which in my opinion, ruins the premise of the Metal Gear series as a whole. I know that Stealth wasn't very big in Rising to begin with, but Platinum completely threw it out the window, unwilling to step out of their comfort zone. (Their last two games were Bayonetta and Vanquish, both fast-paced games with no stealth element.)

As a fan of the MGS series, I'm utterly disappointed. Also, what the hell is a 'Revengeance'?

Revenge with a vengeance of course. There's even an entry in the dictionary for it. The one Kojima uses. Right next to 'Transfarring".

BF3 got beat by MW2.5 MW3, so...

And it's MG Revengeance, Hideo Kojima put up why the Solid part was taken out. Which is obvious, but it's a spin-off. It's supposed to be different. I wouldn't judge so quickly when we haven't seen the final product yet.

I don't really like choosing a Game of the Year to honest. I just watch these things for previews.

First time seeing the MG Revengeance (god, that's a silly name) trailer, I thought, "this is different...a lot of fans aren't going to be happy."

When I saw Raiden fighting the Metal Gear RAY, I was honestly laughing hard at the whole trailer at that point.

At least it's a spin-off. And I'm interested in this now.
