Error in translation with "Kiramekirari"
« on: December 04, 2011, 02:13:57 pm »
Notice : I am not good at English. I'm sorry for this. T_T

The link is here : http://www.project-imas.com/w/Kiramekirari

どんな卵だってカエルんだぞ,
卵(tamago) means "egg", and カエル(孵る, kaeru) means "hatch".
帰る(means "return") has same pronunciation, but in this case, 孵る is right.
So, this sentence means "Every eggs will hatch."

ワクワクテカカ
Its origin, ワクテカ(wakuteka) means "the shape of looking forward to something".
Generally, it is used into(?) initial form "wktk".
So, this sentence means "the shape of looking forward (to hatching the egg)."

I daren't edit the wiki because of my pool English.

Thank you for read this. :)

This is a valid objection and the mistake remains un-fixed. I tried making a new account numerous times, disabling security software, but no matter what I do for the captcha I keep getting:

Login error
Incorrect or missing confirmation code.

Oh, that? When you type in the Captcha, hit Enter while the text cursor is on the captcha's text box.

I tried entering the captcha then hitting enter with the cursor in its box after filling everything out, I tried clicking on "create account" at the bottom after filling everything out, still:

Login error
Incorrect or missing confirmation code.

I'm using Firefox, turned off all of my protection software including Firewall, still nothing, I switched to IE8, still nothing.

I filled out everything including real name, still nothing.

Strange. I was able to edit by doing just that. Oh well, I'll take care of it later. You may want to bring this up to Yuna, though.

Are you talking about the captcha with all uppercase letters? Yeah, they're actually supposed to be typed in lowercase. It's about as silly as it sounds, not to mention some of the other problems with it (such as the fact that the phrases are pretty limited- I've gotten doubles a few times now.)

As for the lyrics, the criticism is valid but the translation doesn't exactly make sense-- how'll you be phrasing it on the page?

lmao are you serious? That sounds like a fatal flaw, I wonder how many dozens of editors were denied because of the screwed up captcha system. I've seen all manner of captcha with all kinds of scribbles and even in foreign languages but a ALLCAPS captcha that you're supposed to enter in LOWER CASE. That is some inscrutable bullshit right there.

And...

holy crap it actually worked.

Wow... I don't know what to say... this is like a retail website without a functioning shopping cart. An absolutely fatal flaw, if the goal is to increase the contributions to the wiki then this captcha mechanism is a tremendous impediment in its current state.

I have to run and do some other things at the moment, but I will look it over later and post my intended changes here a few hours before changing anything on wiki.

Here are the affected lines which the OP pointed out the mistakes in and my intended changes, if there are no objections to the changes I'll edit them in tomorrow:

http://www.project-imas.com/w/Kiramekirari

7th box down from the top -
どんな卵だってカエルんだぞ
ワクワクテカカ

As the OP pointed out, the ワクワクテカカ is slang, an explanation can be found here -  http://dic.nicovideo.jp/a/wktk

Old translation =
Every striving expert can go home with
such an exciting laughter!

New corrected translation =
Eggs of every shape and size will all still hatch!
What could it be? We can't wait!

Effort has been made to keep the rhythm, number of syllables, and pace of the song consistent with the Japanese version while still keeping the correct meanings.

Yeah, I had to find that out the hard way. I suppose it's to throw off spambots, but they get through all the time anyways....

Anyways, that looks great! I have no arguments. =v=b
