The iDOLM@STER Anime - Ep. 21 discussion
satty:
So, discussion time!
I thought this was a very good episode, and Kotori fans will be pleased by this. Animation wise, it's much better in the second half of the episode.
Crisu:
Couldn't help it; had to watch it raw. My overall reaction, in a word:
YEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
Best thing since episode 20, I tell you. Probably is emphasized because I'm a Chihaya fan. Big spoiler time:
Nemuri Hime! Yes! Absolute yes! Kuroi sabotaging their show once again isn't going to stop "Awakened Chihaya" now. By the way, did you notice the subtle change in the OP? No more suffering for our songstress. (Except well, she's now suffering to get into Haruka's pants, nihihihihi, but that's another point for later.) She sings loud and proud, and finally the audio director guy finally comes to his senses and turns on the music. I'm proud of Jupiter in this ep, too. Kuroi finally reached the limit with Touma. My only disappointment is that they had to do it during Nemuri Hime's chorus, but oh well. :P
Kotori is super cute. I don't know much about her past, but it seemed like we got a glimpse of it while at that lounge. Was surprised to see Kuroi there having a few drinks with Takagi. I'll have to check the sub later for their exact conversation, but I think Takagi was trying to put Kuroi on the better path again, but he eventually gave up and walked out.
More yuri goggles for Haruka and Chihaya! Smiles and blushes and private conversations. There was one last shot at a coupling at the end, but Miki had to be there. Ah well, she's the third Namassuka Sunday MC anyway so I guess they're a trio when they can be. The whole series is really going on the danketsu theme, too, so these little soft blushes are all we'll get officially. At least the preview for ep22 will have more of the two doing things together?
If Jupiter really did disband in this episode, what does that mean for the rest of the series? More totally fun episodes like ep15? I'm all for it.

I also noticed the change in the OP, thought it was a nice touch. And the yuribait between Haruka and Chihaya...

It's probably gonna be like that, or a big competition where the Bullet Speed Girls are the main group 765 Pro has to beat. Or Jupiter coming back dressed up in white.
Also, there's one part during the episode where it's been exploited. Case in point:

THIS.
Watching this episode earlier. Like I just say, this might be a post-Thanksgiving episode (ever since it's 24th in my country yesterday). As Christmas is fast approaching, looks like the idols are now taking the trump cards as Chihaya unleashes it. I salute her.
Here's some of my moments from this episode.
* - Bad Parent Hunter (Australian accent ala Steve Irwin): You should put some make up on that. Crikey!
· The prologue's amazing, and will the scandal ended this time?
· FINALLY, RK wears the Luxury outfits for the first time! Iori's outfit is cool with a thunder symbol on her headband and her outfit.
· Thanks to Ohime-chin's help with the makeup (I remembered this one from Fairly OddParents*), Chihaya looks amazing. And of course let's not forget Touma's 'secret' mission to stop Kuroi.
· Looks like Kuroi's dirty tricks are now leveled up even more, causing the morale of our beloved 765PRO.
· Looks like Jupiter's second song is here when I heard this.
· Thanks to Chihaya's speech and Harurun's special advice, the others idols decided to cheer her up as she is geared up and ready for the performance to begin.
· I saw Takagi in the audience area, and when I saw Chihaya performing 'Nemuri Hime' (ACAPELLA HOLY SHRIMP!), 'Awakened Chihaya' is born thanks to her support from the last episode. Good god almighty, she's UNBELIEVABLE! Meanwhile, Haruka and the idols are nearly tear-jerked when they hear her song.
· As Touma remembers Kuroi's dirty trick earlier, he finally snaps it. After Kuroi leaves, it's face-to-face time as he encounters his old friend, Takagi-shachou.
· Wow, Jupiter in casual clothes. And Hokuto's hat, man I love his hat!
· I can't believe Takagi invites the idols (the L4U veterans, Yayoi and Iorin) to a fancy bar and resto, as they encounter Yoshizawa and Kuroi. And holy, it's Piyo-chan, and she's gorgeous! Later on the other idols are arrived too when they hear Kotori's performance.
· And finally, it will be a few days to go before WInter starts. Better get your jackets ready!
One of Kotori's songs, Sora, is performed. Takita's (Piyo-chan's seiyuu) amazing.
Honorable mentions: The audio director guy and Jupiter, because they are awesome.
Crowning Moment of Awesome: Chihaya's 'Nemuri Hime' performance in acapella.
Overall: 10/10 (for Chihaya and Kotori, because these girls are great when I heard their songs respectively.)
Next week's going to be a super-duper Winter episode, gosh I am feeling the cold winds here in my country!
Ch@osM@ster:
Dat Nemuri Hime. IN ACAPELLA. VERY YES.
And Kotori...I got to hear Hana and Sora again...<3
