So... What's the best way for a regular wiki contributor to deal with these spam pages that keep popping up? I've been just blanking them but is there a better thing I should be doing?

Sadly, no. The best normal editors can do is mark the spam pages for deletion and call a wiki mod for the actual deleting (I suggest nowano or Kyo for this).
