Hai-sai~
« on: November 21, 2011, 08:03:57 pm »
Hello!  I had known about Idolmaster for a while as "that idol simulator with the dance videos I keep seeing on YouTube" but never really paid it any real attention until the anime started airing this year.  (I totally ignored Xenoglossia.)  I've been following the anime every week and reading and learning more about the iM@S universe.  And my most recent commitment is purchasing the PS3 special box (This is my filmstrip!).  I completed my first playthrough this weekend and still have plenty more to do to get all those trophies.  ;)

------------

Real Name: Harry
Sex: M
Country of Origin: USA
Age (upon joining): 26
Hobbies: programming, web design, puzzles

Q: How did you come across this site?
A: Google search.

Q: Why did you join this site?
A: Finally decided I want to try to get more involved and learn more about iM@S.  Also make contacts so I can ask questions if I get stuck in the game or wonder about a certain character.  :P

Q: Who is your fave idol?
A: Chihaya > Haruka > Yayoi > Miki > Hibiki > Makoto > Takane > Iori > Ritsuko > Azusa > Ami > Mami > Yukiho
(This ranking is not final; it will probably change often as I play more, watch more, and learn more.)

Q: Why is your username Crisu?
A: I made it up one day in 7th grade trying to figure out an AOL screen name.  It was an old roleplaying name but has since stuck anyway as an Internet handle.

Q: What are you into right now?
A: Assassin's Creed Revelations and Battlefield 3 are bought but still shrinkwrapped on my shelf.  ^^;;  Still playing my Imas2 until I can get around to those.  Maybe when I need a break from all this Japanese and want to play something in a language I'm fluent in, hah.

Q: Who's your favorite singer(s) right now?
A: Mizuki Nana, Perfume, Imai Asami

Q: Do you have any expectations from this site?
A: This should be the place for all English-language iDOLM@STER knowledge.

------------

Someday, someday I will learn enough Japanese to enjoy this game to the fullest.   So far I've (sadly) been avoiding most of the promotion/commu events, which are the bulk of the character development.  I want to at least save up in-game money to get the best amulets and equips, so the technical aspect in later playthroughs will be less of an issue, and I can go back to playing the promo events with a kanji dictionary by my side and not worry about making it into Idol Academy.

I don't know what my outlook is for purchasing additional Blu-Ray volumes or G4U! games.  Maybe a Chihaya figure if they release a new one...

I just found the Japanese wiki for the game.  The English one on Wikia is a bit lacking (though it already has a lot for first-time gamers), so maybe I can muster the energy to help update it soon...

Awesome! Hello fellow programmer and nearly Haru~run fan.
Enjoy your stay.

:O Couldn't you at least guess on the commus? I find it nearly impossible to play without the appeals or getting some publicity.

Oh, I should clarify my post.  I did do enough promos to get my Memory Appeal to level 3, and that's been sufficient for winning my performances.  I do try my best to gauge the idol's reactions and pick out key words in the Japanese text to figure out the correct answer, but it's still a little intimidating sometimes.  ^^;  I'll get better at it as I keep playing.

Thanks for the welcome (that was fast)!

While Chihaya is my favorite, I'm saving her for a later gameplay when I am more knowledgeable to have a chance at her True End.  So my first playthrough was Haruka - Chihaya - Hibiki.  And it was that playthrough that vaulted Haruka up my list.  I don't know if her story is that deep (the events I played through didn't seem to be), but her mannerisms and day-to-day optimism was what I found very cute and endearing.  Even when she's mad at you, I couldn't help but think it was cute the way she acted.

Second playthrough I think I will lead with Yayoi and have Miki and ... someone else as members.  Maybe Chihaya again to balance out the voices.  Or Mami for all-out high-pitched-ness.
