Hi Guys! (and/or Gals!)
« on: November 20, 2011, 08:48:54 am »
Hey guys! I'm fairly new to iM@S stuff, but really loving it. I actually bought iM@S SP when it came out (that was my first iM@S game) and enjoyed it quite a bit. As soon as iM@S 2 for PS3 was announced I ordered it and am almost at the end of my first playthrough now (Hibiki as leader).

Real Name: Andy
Sex: Male
Age (upon joining): 21
Hobbies: Mainly video games (action, point 'n click adventures, visual novels, rpgs).

=Q&A=

Q: How did you come across this site?
A: Looking for an iM@S wiki on Google.

Q: Why did you join this site?
A: To get involved with an English-speaking iDOLM@STER community.

Q: Do you play it?
A: Yes! Previously played SP. Currently playing 2 (PS3).

Q: Who is your fave idol?
A: Iori! Though, as she's not selectable in 2, I've gone to Hibiki. I really like Yayoi too, but I prefer her personality to her voice.

Q: Why is your username "DereDereAngel"?
A: Well, I wanted something relating to a tsundere (love 'em!), but I also needed something I could use in different places without it being taken. I prefer the dere dere (love-dovey) part of the word anyway! ;) [DD works for short]

Q: What are you in to right now?
A: Eagerly awaiting Zelda: Skyward Sword. Thoroughly enjoying iM@S 2 until then.

Q: What is your motto?
A: I don't really have a motto... but there's a quote I like that's similar to one: ""It is only in adventure that some people succeed in knowing themselves - in finding themselves."

Q: Who's your favorite singer(s) right now?
A: Sakura Saori! She's been my favourite since I found her music a few years back.

Q: What are you up to right now?
A: Writing this! :3 Just finished eating dinner.

Q: Do you have any expectations from this site?
A: When I first came here I was just hoping it was still active and up-to-date. Which, it is!

=== Other Stuff ===

So, that's me in a nutshell!

I've been looking through various idolm@ster merchandise the last few days and a few CDs look really good. I'm thinking about picking up Iori's Master Artist Season 2 CD. Possibly one of the anime soundtracks too. Anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks! And yes, she doesn't have quite the fang! ;) I like her in the game because she has that energetic personality plus a nice voice. Every now and then I go to Stage For You and just enjoy watching her sing Little Match Girl.

Yoness!  Good to have ya, even if I'm fairly new here myself!  Iori's a character I like quite a bit as well.  I'm not usually much for tsundere types, but she nails it in the right ways for me.  I also like the Iori/Yayoi dynamic out there, as it's tackled in a completely different way than one would imagine at first.  I can dig it.

Hibiki's a good pick too!  Ah, I like all the characters... I'm bad at picking sides.  Either way, have fun with the PS3 game!

As for music?  I have really enjoyed the ANIM@TION MASTER anime stuff myself, and the MASTER ARTIST 2 albums are nice.  Yayoi has a track by Joe Hisaishi, which was amusing (and quite fitting).  The others are up to your preference, and I'd check out VGMdb in correlation to what you're interested with.  If there's something that pops out at ya (arranger, song, whatever)?  Go for it by all means.

The music is what enticed me to following iM@S in the first place, and I'm continually surprised at what comes next.  They haven't touched much from iM@S2 original DLC yet, so there's always much more in the future.  The anime related albums are pretty well balanced, with a bit of everything by all of the characters.  The 8bit stuff from Famison was nifty as well, though that's somehow another creature entirely.  Yikes, this'll get to be a sizable list if I don't stop here.

Just check out whatever seems interesting.  I'm sure some folks post plenty of stuff on YouTube, at the very least it gives you an idea of what you wish to purchase.

Also... enjoy Skyward Sword, it shouldn't disappoint I would imagine.

Haha, don't worry too much. I like Hibiki very much, but Iori will always be my favourite.

You and I kind of share the same names. Except it's Andrew, not Andy btw.

Anyway, welcome to project im@s.

Hello, hello.

I started with the PS3 game just a few weeks ago, but I wonder if I should invest in one of the PSP ones for on-the-go playing.

Hello, hello.

I started with the PS3 game just a few weeks ago, but I wonder if I should invest in one of the PSP ones for on-the-go playing.

The strength of the PSP games is probably the voice work.  Also, their price dropped a year after release.

On the downside, the graphics are rather lacking- that's why I was so excited when the PS3 version was announcted.  The standard outfits are basically palette swaps, and the idols' faces are pretty jaggy.  Also, the song selection is pretty limited, assuming no DLC purchased.  But at least each idol gets their own song from the Master Artist series.

The commus have been completely mapped out in (link to wiki in the PSP section), and you can fit a lot of them into a standard playthrough.
