My PS3 flash drive went the way of the dodo early yesterday, time to replace all of that G4Uage!  Falling debris has never been this much fun.  I'm still impressed they manage to think of putting in studio lights in a place nobody should need to take a picture of.  Yayoi is amused, obviously.

It took me a while to realize the total purpose of that petal.

G4U will be getting a few additional options starting with the 5th volume.  Dengeki online has an article about the new functionality here.

• The PS3 controller's motion capabilities can be used to control the camera.  Tilting the controller will move the camera.
• Choose the photo size.  Wide (as per usual), Long, or Square.
• Black borders on or off, for photos in the Long or Square shapes.
• Display a guide grid, which will vary depending on the photo size selected.
• Kerare Filter, which is a vignetting effect.  Seems to be two levels available.

These all seem awesome, especially the controller->camera deal.  So often I try to nudge the camera just ever so slightly to where I want it... then overshoot by pressing too hard.  This'll add a new fun aspect to these mini-games.  I can absolutely dig it.

Neat. Too bad they didn't put these features in until now, but at least they started with my (soon-to-be) favorite volume!

VOL.5: YAYOI OrangeMIX (Massugu / Futari no Kioku / my song / Ohayou!! Asagohan / Meisou Mind / THE IDOLM@STER)

I've always liked Yayoi's rendition of Meisou Mind... awesome.  While I do dig the new functionality, it would be nice if they could apply to the photos themselves (aside from the vignetting effect).  Unless I'm missing something, which I could be.  Extending the kerare filter to be selected itself, as opposed to applying just with the size option would be neat.  I'm a little confused as to why the logo moves with the size, seems a bit unnecessary.  I still enjoy this volume, really nice presentation overall.

The comments on the Nekomimi Mode photos are fun, so I can dig it.
