Amazon.co.jp has more copies of Vol. 4 in stock at 61% off, in case anyone else wanted to do what I did.

So I sat down with said volume today and spent some time playing it. Every now and then I'd hear some kind of chime when an idol posed. Maybe the answer's in the topic somewhere already and I just don't remember, but what exactly does that mean/do?

The tone means their mood has changed.  If you hit the 15 minute mark the tone will also sound and they'll respond in some fashion.  Perhaps every increment afterwards, but I've not spent that long at once before.  Their requested expressions will change a bit depending on their mood so it's always worth a look at what is available when the tone sounds.

Ah, okay. I knew the mood changed, but I didn't know that signified it. Thanks.

Going to amend this list here, as a few things have changed since I originally posted it.

Haruka (and... afterwards)/ Mami / Ami / Yukiho / Takane / Ritsuko / Yayoi Yayoi's high touch / Chihaya / Iori / Makoto (punch!) / Azusa's turn & pose / Hibiki / Miki's onigiri / Ai

I forgot that Makoto's punch turns into a kick, and she sets down differently if wearing an outfit with the ability to use on the floor.  Yayoi's pose up there is shared by at least Ami, so... blah.  It seems that Yayoi only has her high touch.  Even so it has... quite a setup and landing.

Nitpicky?  Absolutely.  It bothers me to leave things like that stay... not quite right.

Interesting, I always thought that I got a great angle cause I always hear that chime sound whenever I get a good camera angle.

In Vol. 3 it sucks that the older idols like Azusa, Ritsuko, and Takanae are boring.

Yeah that's what I meant, a video of selecting the pose and then the idol striking the pose, not a frozen frame shot or anything. Thank you for the nico link, if I find something like that I'll post it here :)

Why would it not be legal? At weddings sometimes the flower-girl wears a regular dress, but sometimes they dress her up in a smaller wedding dress. Anyway, I'm still not used to that word being used so casually outside of disreputable dives like 4ch or SA... For what it's worth, how it's been used it's as loaded and trollish a word as the N word or ... actually it's at least an order of magnitude worse... ahhhh forget it, I have Iori in my avatar it's not like I'm in any position to say this that or the other.

What do you mean what are they for? Technically the G4U volumes are their own games. They're all separate discs that are played like a game on the PS3. They're kind of considered a game because of that I guess, so they need to have trophies.

I don't know what the trophies are, but they're probably stuff like doing a photo session for a certain amount of time.
