Does JPN DLC work with Asian copy of the game

(1/2) > >>

shadowerp:
Is it compatible with the Asian version of the game?

zeda12123:
It unfortunately is not compatible. For Asian version DLC you must use HKD. Which sucks since HKD is more expensive I find.

animagic4u:
Are you sure? I thought it did.

Hmm...maybe the exchange rate is differnet now, but I find it cheaper if not the same.
Besides the game is cheaper so why not indulge in some DLC?

shadowerp:
Ahh... That really suks OTZ

Thanks for the reply, I was looking at the prices of PSN cards HKD is more expensive in pounds too damn... Was checking first as my local import shop can only order in the Asian ver. I will just order online then.

Setsuna:
For a technical explanation it's this:

The game itself is identified by a disc code, and the disc codes for the Japanese and the Asian version (Even though they're functionally the same game right down to its programming) are different, so DLC purchased on one won't work on the other

(Unless you can a) move the DLC to where it should be and b) trick the PS3 into enabling the DLC at that location. I wouldn't know where to start with that.)
