The iDOLM@STER Anime Ep: 17 discussion

What can I say.
The director of the anime said he loves Makoto way before the anime even went into production, and he sure played with his favorites in this episode.
Looking at the credits, he's involved in this episode much more than other episodes too.

Story development wise, there is only minor progression (Touma getting a tiny hint about Kuroi's scheming ways and something about Chihaya's family), but no problem, because this is a OMG CUTE MOEMOE episode, finely crafted by a man who loves Makoto, for people who love Makoto.

A weapon of mass moestruction.
A scalpel in the part of the brain that governs all control over reason.
Makkomakkoriin.

I actually can't see my monitor right now because I'm teary eyed with the sheer cuteness of the episode.

I personally thought it was kind of a meh episode. Sorry for sounding so biased but I didn't really care for it since I personally don't care for Makoto. It wasn't quite as serious as I thought it would be so I was kind of disappointed in that too.

But overall I give it a 6.5/10. That's just my honest opinion and I hope people can understand that.

This show seriously needs more Yukiho and Takane!

And that is where you and I, as Yukiho fans, differ.
Currently trying to grab the episode, but saw the screens.  I think I like where this it going.

And now I watched it.  Loved it.  See, this is the type of balance that Makoto really needs.  She really shouldn't force herself to act like a girl.

9.5/10 because I'd like to see some story progression.

*adds to favorite episode list*

I just watch this episode and I truly loved it. And it only because of Yukiho's camp out, waiting for a Makoto episode while Takane trying to calm down in the preview.

One of the favorite moments of this episode was Makoto's narration of a shoujo manga scene, and the Producer's playing Time Crisis in the arcade. Miki was awfully shocked, wow.

The ending was beautiful, and it was amazing Makoto's kick butt in her karate session.

And next week's going to be epic. IORIN!! WHAT'S HAPPENING TO YOU?!

My overall score: 10/10 (9.5/10 for the story progression.)

They're really throwing hints for a Chihaya Episode, aren't they?

Will give more of an opinion when I get back from classes today.

Something funny I've read from Twitter (sources unknown, so may not be true), but apparently the ending song for this episode was made at the request of the Anim@s director.

He also requested something along the lines of "it HAS to be the kind of song sung by Makoto in her white one-piece dress! I won't accept anything else."
