Your Top 5 Listings! Currently: Top 5 Characters you want in the next Smash Bros
AbsoluteZero45:
For smash I'd like to see:
5. Batman. I mean c'mon it's Batman! lol
4. Geno from Super Mario RPG.
3. King K Rool - The Donkey Kong Country series needs a villain to represent.
2. Someone from the "Tales" series. Probably Lloyd from Symphonia (just cause his game was on the Gamecube) but I'd be just as happy with Yuri from Vesperia.
1. Megaman, in any form. Actually let me rephrase that, anything other then Bad Box Art Megaman. Capcom hasn't really done anything with him as of late so I'm hoping he'll make a comeback.
nublet765:
Characters I want - in no particular order:
Character Name, Franchise, company, year released
Another character from the Fire Emblem Series (Lyndis, Hector, Elincia, Soren, Mia, Micaiah), Fire Emblem, Nintendo, various years
I have to agree with Roninator on this one. Lyn would be my first preference, as yes, we do need more women in brawl ... err ... whatever they're naming the new one. However, a small problem with Lyn that I see is that she uses a sword (yes, she uses a bow when she promotes) and Marth, Roy and Ike already wield swords. I'd like to see if possible, two characters from this franchise, Lyn or Mia (another female sword fighter - Elincia ... maybe - she's got a pegasus though) and another class that doesn't use swords - maybe mages, like Soren or Micaiah.
Isara Gunther (or a member of Squad 7, Welkin, Alicia, Largo, Rosie, etc.), Valkryia Chronicles, Sega, 2008
I have to say this and get this off my chest. ONE OF MY MOST FAVOURITE GAMES OF ALL TIME!!!!!
(Here's the prologue mission - you can also get into it, if you wish - two parts - www.youtube.com/watch?v=5uROB193QY8 and www.youtube.com/watch?v=cB2dzF7EHgw)
Alright, now that that's settled.
Okay maybe not - (gush)
I just really, really want a character from Squad 7. Sonic was an okay character, and I know he's one of the most recognized Sega characters, but I would trade Sonic for any one of the main characters from Squad 7 in a heartbeat. (Like Fire Emblem, all the characters and kinda main characters, but I'll limit it down to Isara, Welkin, Alicia, Largo, Rosie, Zaka, and I'll throw in Marina ... no idea what I'm talking about? Read up: http://valkyria.wikia.com/wiki/Valkyria_Wiki)
Why Isara first? I'm not going to write the spoiler here - but she deserved more time. (I know in VCII, I used the codes to unlock her, and used her for basically everything, to combat the injustice last game)
A little problem with Isara and these characters - if Final Smashes return ... what would it be? Alicia's is obvious (Valkryria!) - kinda, but for Isara and Welkin, it'd probably be dropping the Edelweiss onto the battlefield - and I think we've all seen enough Landmasters.
(/gush)
Vyse, Aika or Fina, Skies of Arcadia, Sega, 2000
First, I must temper the gushing before over Valkryria Chronicles by saying this outright - I have not played Skies of Arcadia. I was aware of it through the inclusion of these three as guest characters in Valkryria Chronicles, but other than that, I really do not have any knowledge of the franchise.
From what little I've seen of it though, reading wikis and watching playthroughs, it looks really good though.
Small issue - released in 2000 for the Dreamcast, with a port on the Gamecube in 2002. Will people remember?
A main character from Golden Sun, Golden Sun (Issac or Jenna), Nintendo, various years
Again, like Skies of Arcadia - I know nothing of this franchise. I really want to play it, but I'm a little concerned over game length
Again, from what I've seen of it, this game is awesome, and Issac could be promoted from an assist trophy to a full character, but not just Issac, any other main character could also be amazing as a playable character
Insert a Kingdom Hearts character here (I'll pick ... Sora, kinda obvious), Kingdom Hearts, Square Enix/Disney Interactive, 2002 and ongoing
The obvious choices would be Sora and Roxas (maybe Kairi), but any character would be welcome (King Mickey, Donald, Goofy?)
Only slight issue is that battles take place in a three dimensional space, and the brawl maps are basically 2D (there's no depth - you can run left and right, and jump up or down, but you can't run into the map or away ... um ... that's the best I can describe it as)
Final Fantasy character - probably someone since FF6 - (I'll pick ... Rinoa :P), Final Fantasy, Square Enix, various years ongoing
By the same token a Kingdom Hearts character would be welcome, a Final Fantasy character could too. (Just imagine a gunblade as a weapon ;D)
Same slight issue applies though - Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts battles occur now in 3 dimensional space. Unless the next SSB moves to a 3D fighting arena, some moves might look a little awkward.
I'm sure there are some games I'm forgetting, there are also some I choose to ignore (well, our iM@S girls wouldn't really fit in ... maybe Makoto (Episode 8 of the anime anyone? Who kidnapped Azusa?! and the big fight in Chinatown)). But this list should do for now.
Naryoril:
funny, when i read "Isara Gunther" i immediately thought "Vyse!" and a few lines further down there he is metioned already, and i have to agree with a lot of the other stuff metioned by nublet765 already
But let's get started, ignoring how realistic these may be:
Neku Sakuraba (The World Ends With You):
A truly amazing and innovative game, it tears down more JRPG conventions than most JRPGs even have. If they will ever release a sequel (Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance gives hope) i'll immediately buy the console it's on.
Vyse (Skies of Arcadia):
One of my favoirte games of all times. The story is extremely unpredictable but all those story turns feel right, nothing is taken out of nowhere. The setting is really unique as well (Zelda: Skyward Sword has a similar setting, but it was released years after Skies of Arcadia) and the battle system is also great (the only battle system ever that made me actually use the items you find in the game in almost every battle)
Isaac (Golden Sun):
Would be a great addition, a mixture between a Swordsman and a Magician. This one is actually a realistic possibility since Golden Sun is a Nintendo first party franchise.
Naruto (Naruto):
He does a great job in his own fighting games, i the Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 (part 1 not so much, looking forward to Generations). And his move set would also fit well into Smash Brothers. Though i'd prefer Hinata (older version) over Naruto
Tomoyo Sakagami (Clannad):
Clannad is a great game/series and Tomoyo is a badass fighter with good looks, she'd fit well into Smash Brothers ;)

Hehee, just noticed - it was top 5 - and .. I just went ahead and wrote 6 ... so bite me :P
(Just kidding, no biting. Well, no teeth.)
But to add to the … six I’ve already put up … here are another 5 … again, no particular order
Hope that’s alright
Zhao Yun/Yukimura Sanada, DW/SW/ …Warriors series, Koei, 1997 –
If you’ve seen a Koei game – it goes without saying that some of the movesets are awesome – especially cause you plow through lots of enemies with devastating attacks, even supercharged musou attacks. And if you’re going to have a character enter in for a cameo appearance, it makes sense to include one of the “poster boys”
Any character (I’m sure someone actually has an idea, cause I don’t know), Super Robot Wars series, Banpresto, no idea
I … absolutely don’t know anything about this. I’ve heard that it’s like an over the top version of Fire Emblem – so a Turn based strategy, but with ridiculous amounts of health and highly damaging attacks.
Sounds okay? I really don’t know.
A character (Again, people before me have recommended it, so they would have better suggestions on which character), Tales series, Namco, 1995 –
Again, I hear nothing but good things about this series – but can’t figure out how to play it :(
On an unrelated note – according to the Wikipedia on the latest, Tales of Xillia, “A localization was further hinted at by Tales Series producer Makoto Yoshizumi, who said that a localization was possible if fan demand was strong enough”.
Where’s my iM@S localization Namco Bandai? Don’t dub though – just sub, and I’ll be a happy panda … person … (why is that an expression?)
Ameratsu, Okami, Capcom, 2006
It’s an interesting game … alright, you caught me, I haven’t played many games on this add–on list of five. Only problem I see with Ameratsu is that she’s been in Marvel vs. Capcom 3 already.
Though … could that open the door for a full crossover? It’d be weird, but I guess it could happen … Marvel DC Capcom Street Fighter Soul Tekken Smash Bros anyone?
Sgt. Cortez, Timesplitters series, Free Radical, 2000 –
After Goldeneye 007 and Perfect Dark, Rare was bought by Microsoft – however, some employees left and formed up … you guessed it, Free Radical. Timesplitters is an interesting little shooter series, and … well, I’m just including this to push Free Radical – well … now Crytek – to hurry up with Timesplitters 4.
(… okay, fine I lied – kinda. Those are the 5, but here’s an honourable mention/random suggestion)
Hello Kitty
Well .. why not? XD
