Okay, on Columbia's Cinderella Girls page (http://columbia.jp/imas_cinderella/) there are the boxes which contain the biographies of each idol... Do the colors in the background of each box represent their official Image Color?
"An idol's job is to carry everybody's dreams. They're supposed to use song and dance to make people happy. When the famous idols I know appear on TV or do concerts... That alone makes the audiences watching them smile. THAT'S WHY I WANT TO BE AN IDOL TOO..."

I think that we should wait for an official confirmation, but those seem like they'd be canon. They're pretty fitting for each idol.

I know that at concerts the handheld light things (I can't remember the name) for each idol are sorted by type. For example, Mio, Miria, and Aiko are all orange because passion.

YES! I finally got my iM@S Death Metal! Or at least, as close to it as I can get. But still, YES!

Sae's is exactly what I would've expected given the character. Very light-heated with an oriental flavor to it.

Here are the election results.  Colored names indicate top 3 of each type.

1. Shibuya Rin - 253,329
2. Abe Nana - 202,083
3. Ogata Chieri - 195,744
4. Shimamura Uzuki - 162,606
5. Honda Mio - 132,458
6. Sagisawa Fumika - 126,045
7. Takagaki Kaede - 122,163
8. Himekawa Yuki - 107,763
12. Takamori Aiko

Strange. Cael hasn't posted yet? He's probably gonna flip with happiness when he finds out Yuki's getting a CD debut. XD

FIST PUMP WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO YUUUUUUUKIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am satisfied with this ranking - Yuki gets a voice, Fumika gets a voice... Maybe not really that colorful as New Generations are all in there, but Nana and Chieri provide the random, so that's all good. At least it isn't 4 Cools plus a random like last time. I would have liked one or two more idols get voices, but well... Yuki and Fumika.

The only thing is that Riina is nowhere on this list. I notice she hasn't had cards for a while either.
Cael's Im@s Ranking: Azusa, Yumeko, Tomomi, Haruka

On an unrelated note, this guy's EDM/dubstep x anime/game mashups kick ass, especially his Ranko x Knife Party one.

So..  Finally got a chance to listen to Nao's full song and the ESTi vibes are so strong and I absolutely love it.  It sounds like something I would have loved to hear in DJ MAX.

Sadly, I still have to wait for the iDOLM@STER Music Blog on Tumblr to upload it. Shouldn't take long, though.

Part of my shipment came in today, so I'm starting to listen to the CD's.

OMG. The drama skit for Syoko... It's not an act... she's completely batshit insane. The Producer and mushrooms are probably the only thread of sanity she has left.

It's so beautiful! I can't get enough of it! 8)

I wonder what would happen if she and Mayu were locked in a room together. Maybe the upcoming anime will answer that for us!  :D

Her song is fairly hardcore metal, so it fits her perfectly, but I don't like the melody of it all that much. Lyrics are great though.

Yeah, Syoko's interview literally scared the shit out of me. Should not have been listening to it at work.

Nao had a great interview with Producer (and not Staff-san, surprisingly) teasing her every step of the way.

Karen, wasn't crazy about. Was amusing whenever her mom interrupted them though.

Yuko had a lot of Nana vibes to her interview.

Sae's was long as hell, but her voice is hnnnnnnng, so it's all good. Her song's surprisingly catchy too.

Would probably rank Sae  > Nao > Syoko/Yuko > Karen overall.

Yuko had a lot of Nana vibes to her interview.

I think part of it is because they recycled a music track that was first featured in Nana's drama skit. Another factor is how she was repeatedly called out for her ESP feats, just how Nana gets constantly called out for her alien claims.

To be honest, I didn't like her drama skit at all. It didn't add anything new to what we know about her... she still just a chuunibyo... and Ranko is the queen of that gimmick. The song was okay, but just average at best.

Sae's was long as hell, but her voice is hnnnnnnng, so it's all good. Her song's surprisingly catchy too.

Yea. Her way of speaking goes above and beyond what I was expecting. Producer~han is so lucky to have her attention. I agree about her song: the massive use of Japanese instruments and quasi-traditional singing really made it work.

Would probably rank Sae  > Nao > Syoko/Yuko > Karen overall.

I haven't heard Nao or Karen yet (they're due to arrive on Monday with the second shipment), but so far I'd rate them as:

Syoko > Sae >>> Yuko

I ended up being slightly unhappy with Syoko's song (the melody just doesn't vibe with me for some reason), but her drama skit was purest win. Sae is a close second (great song and awesome voice). Yuko is a waaaaaay distant third for me. I feel they could have done a lot better with her. There was no meat to her personality. As she is, I'd even place her at the bottom of my likes for the idols who've had Cinderella Master CD's so far.

I'm easy to amuse and I wasn't expecting much out of Yuko, so what I got, I was okay with. Sure, Nana has the crazier song, while Yuko's chuunibyou interview isn't quite as farfetched. Still a far cry from Ranko or whoever else, but yeah. I guess overall, she's middle-ground, which makes me rank her the same as Syoko, simply because Syoko went entirely the other direction and somehow ended up being TOO crazy for me.

Nao's is just so full of trolling. Feels like the creators had fun with that.

On the other hand, Karen was a bit too mellow, and didn't have the benefit of having Sae's amazing voice. It's kinda telling when her voiceless mom is more entertaining than the idol herself.

Oh man I wish I could get a translation of Karen's drama track now.  I always imagined she'd have helicopter parents so I'm kinda curious now.

Aye. She's a total psychopath. However it also made me feel sorry for her too... she's been socially isolated for so long, it drove her to create imaginary friends for sanity. It also puts more context into her "let the world burn" crazy mode: it seems to be a mental barrier that keeps her ordinary personality from realizing how unfair life can be. She's only 15 years old and that messed up. Really makes her obsession with the Producer being the first real friend, and catalyst for having more friends, very interesting. While Syoko isn't yandere, if she was betrayed or abandoned by the Producer, I wouldn't be surprised if her reaction could put Mayu's to shame. Syoko is completely unhinged.

But this is iM@S, and the Broducer would never do that.  8)

I also found how she constantly giggles quite neat. Makes it hard to tell if she's going to stay normal, or switch into GO TO HELL mode.
