Ai's Rival Burst:

Rival Punch, Hidaka Punch, Love Punch. Call it what you may. For me, I'm gonna call it Ai no Tekken Punch.

Ooh, good one Marx. One punch and you'll send flying to your scheduled gig.

Hmm... it's kinda funny that she remain with 13 years in iDOLM@STER 2.

I don't think it's really -that- unusual. I mean...the 765Pro idols did show up in iM@SDS in their old designs/ages, but iM@S DS was the first installment of the whole 2nd Vision thing. So this is kind of Ai's default era.

I guess they didn't plan to change Ai's appearance in iM@S 2. (They did the same thing in the anime, too. So, it doesn't really matter to me.)

This.
I've never played DS so can someone confirm that it could be possible that DS and 2 are happening in the same time plane so to speak.

I believe that Dearly Stars followed SP's timeline, not 2.

DS, being the first of the 2nd Vision series, followed iM@S2 (Hibiki and Takane were 765 idols to begin with).

If it truly followed 2, why does everyone have the old character designs rather than the newer ones (Not to mention Ritsuko is not a producer and Ryuuguu Komachi is also missing)?

People still discussing timelines?

Every iM@S world and timeline is a seperate, standalone one.
None of any of the iM@S games, mangas, animes etc are canon and shouldn't be tried put together with any of the other ones.

Drama CD's are a grey area. Most of them are timeless and nonsensical but some of them are related to a game and might be part of a certain iM@S world.

[Edit]
Just in case people'll be whinning, arcadeM@S, boxM@S and free produce SP are technically the same game so don't try mentoning those.

Maybe because DS came first and then later they decided to change the 765 idols' designs and background afterwards?
