The Iori and Makoto banter was funny, although it was sad that Makoto got hurt.
But she totally kicked ass in the end (as if anyone is actually surprised).

This episode needed more Takane though...

To be fair, this is the franchise that has over 10-20 songs about unity, team-work and friendship, which is also kind of the theme of the second game, with Touma and Jupiter failing because they don't genuinely trust each other. Not expecting cheese in the anime is pretty naive.

It's pretty naive of you to think I wouldn't be aware of what most iM@S songs consist of.

I'm aware of the fact that I'm watching an iDOLM@STER anime, and with it comes a certain amount of dairy. All I'm saying is, Azusa asking for dairy with her bread is too much dairy.

What event did Hibiki and Takane compete in (and win)? We didn't get to see it, but there are a couple of clues: their faces were white and Takane and Hamuzou had something in their mouths.

I don't remember exactly what it is, but I've seen it in other anime. It's essentially bobbing for apples, but you're looking for some kind of doughy something or other in a tray of powder. IIRC, it's usually set up as part of a course.
