Strategy to Beat Jupiter?
~Lyssa~:
I'll have to test out these methods! I've tried using the Waranappe amulet and came close to winning until they got their burst (which yeah - they basically cannot burst at all or I pretty much lose) :/ and the burst appeal amulet wasn't working well for me when I tried it. I got "closer" (if you can call it that) with the waranappe....
As for my stats: VO in the lead, DA close behind and VI is raised a bit but not as much as those 2.
BTW - I'm currently playing around with stats with accessories and outfits so now VI is in the lead.... I can't believe I'm having so much trouble with this last FES @__@
Edit: THANK YOU. I finally beat them Dx If I had known it was so "simple" ... oh well ^^; Learned from this experience! Thanks so much for all the suggestions and methods! They really helped me out and I'll be sure to look back at them because I'm sure I'll need them ^^;

Hate to bump this topic, but I'm having a similar problem, and I have some additional burdens to labor under. I failed an audition in week 52 and an asshole reporter glommed onto me. It's Yamahara Tarou, so I don't think it will affect the final FES, but it's bothering me nonetheless.
Due to repeating Hell Training 6 or so times, I have a level 15 unit with level 4 memory appeals. I have high Dance, moderate Visual, and low Vocal. My unit is Haruka (leader), Miki, and Chihaya. I notice when Jupiter memory appeals, it knocks me down really far, but when I do, they hardly feel a thing. What is this bullshit??
I have crap gear; here's my amulet list and song list:
Amulets:
Neburin-chan
Rai-chan
Hiyoku Daruma
Rakocchi
Shigaranuki
Torassan
Shirappan
Nashida-san (using this one)
Futotogisu-kun
Mango-tarou
Songs:
Go My Way (using this one)
Do-Dai
Honey Hearbeat
Ai Like Hamburger
Ready!
Haven't been this pissed off since I came within a few minutes of smashing my Catherine disc.

I don't know if this will help any until the pros come in to help you ^^; but what I do is basically I use one of three of the special amulets that boost 2 appeal areas and slows down one or something like that - but the real trick is to (from what I remember) not burst. I was almost in tears the billion times I tried when I made this topic, and when I won, all I did was I didn't burst (bar maxed, but kept playing normally) and so Jupiter couldn't burst - which is really where I found most of their points come into play is when they burst appeal. Save your burst appeal for those last moments when you know the song is about to "end", you know, the part where it cuts off and you can only watch? Use your burst on that last minute to help you get in the lead. I don't know if this will work for you, and I don;t know if I explained it as well as I know it in my head, but it's a method you can try until the pros help you :D

I always assumed that if you don't use your maxed burst bar, the opponent can knock it down because they've been so good at hammering it down while I was building it up. I'll have to try that later. I don't have any of those 3 amulets because I figured I could pick them up on another run. I'm still not convinced that this game can be beaten with random gear and poor hand-eye coordination. Once I figured out there was an instant retry option, I did it over and over and once got within a thousand points, but that's the best I've done so far. I could squeeze out a bit more stats and a 5th heart by spamming Hell Training, but I'd prefer not to go that route.
I underwent my own personal Hell Training and jogged off the anger, so now I can at least do office work and eat dinner. -.-
edit: I finally managed to get my voltage gauge to burst before Jupiter, but the bar doesn't remain charged for longer than a few seconds. I can't keep these bastards at bay. God, give me force feedback and let me squeeze the buttons for extra power, at least.
I can't get closer than within 3k of Jupiter no matter what I do. This game's bad, yo.
When I try to follow a memory appeal with another memory appeal and burst, they push my bar down before I can get it. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. And then I have to wait for the song to end because I've ruined my chance- 2 minutes never felt so long.
AweOfShe:
Hmm, have you tried equipping Mango-tarou's (or maybe Rai-chan's/Hiyoko Daruma's) amulet, then at the beginning of the festival, use a Memory appeal or two, then try maxxing your Vocal Multiplier before Bursting with Chihaya? That MIGHT give you a bit of a headstart. Maybe with Ai LIKE Hamburger or Ready.
I don't know if it'll help any, but it's the only idea I can think of at the moment.
