Strategy to Beat Jupiter?

(1/3) > >>

~Lyssa~:
Honestly - I'm going insane right now and I have some not-so-nice things to say about Jupiter. I need some serious help on how to beat them in the final FES on week 54..... I'm about to go through hell training for the 4th time and by now I really rather get a bad ending and just start a nice second playthrough but NOOO I just HAVE to beat...........okay. I'm gonna stop there or I will go through the book of the worst insults with these guys....I'm seriously frustrated beyond belief. Is there ANY kind of strategy to beating them? I'll take the lead in the beginning for a short while - and right when I'm close to getting appeal bursts they somehow whip out their extremely cheap tricks and get theirs first - and their points end up skyrocketing somehow to 28k and of course my meter goes down. HELP.ME.PLEASE.

MY SANITY DEPENDS ON IT.  :'(

Might help if we knew what charms you have, and what level your Memory Appeal is at.

I know that at Image Lv. 14 with Lv. 3 appeals and sub-optimal equips, Naranappe the 10th can do it, if you can get two bursts while leaving your opponent at one. You got the Tension UP reporter?

Either way, a duo appeal without him will net you a 65% increase to your meter. A single will net you 25%. A trio will bring you from zero to full. Count your perfects carefully, and you can drop the bomb... once.

Roll-Tier Tactics that might work: From what I remember, the CPU tends to spam Memories at one point... if you've already got a Burst out (maybe only using one Memory appeal) you can let them by, allowing yourself go to zero meter, then fill your gauge up normally and drop your own Memory Bomb spam when it looks they might get a full meter (or as you're approaching the end of the song), or you can go one-for-one, counting on the fact that even though they'll get their Burst, you'll still get one kinda close after. You can hold onto that last Burst, then try to eat up beats with it at the end of the song. Just make sure you can somehow fit two Bursts in, and you can get the almost lockdown going.

BT2:
You probably won't get normal end on your first playthrough, so if you're really desperate you can farm some extra stats and memories from hell's and the final commu.
Also, if you have the Waranappe charm you could try countering Jupiter's bursts with mem appeals and bursts, though if you let them burst you probably won't be able to catch up with your inferior scoring potential..
There's no real trick to beat Jupiter.

[Edit]
If you have any 6/2/2 burst characters and obtained some dual appeal route charms and decent items you could always try a ghetto version of the most common used scoring tactic.

Thanks for the replies - I'm at Image lvl 14 with lvl 3 appeals. My unit (I don't think this makes a difference but figured I'd tell you) is Haruka (leader) Mami, and Yukiho.

The amulets I have are:
May Queen's Amulet
Tanaco-chan Amulet
Shousuke-chan Amulet
Waranappee the 10th Amulet
Rai-chan Amulet
Hiyoko Daruma Amulet
Akari-kun Amulet
Sugamo-chan Amulet
Kurobe Raita's Amulet
Nyawan-chan Amulet
Rinkamo's Amulet
Ebi-Fryaa Man's Amulet
Rakocchi's Amulet
Imu-kun's Amulet
Taishan Amulet
Iyobou's Amulet
Satsumaiman's Amulet

And I know I'm not getting a true ending XD I don't even expect a good ending...I'm wondering - should I be using an amulet that majorly boosts the burst appeal? Or? I mean - I'm still new to this so sorry for anything I say that may sound idiotic/noobish. I'm hoping you can point me in the right direction :)

What sorts of stats do you have currently? Do you have them spread out over the three stats? Focused on one or two? What?

One thing that may help you is you may or may not have optimal items equipped. Go into the costume selection screen and look at what stuff you currently have. Try to pump up your stats some more. Here is the link to my wiki that has costume/accessory info, listing the stat increases: http://imas.wikia.com/wiki/Costumes_%26_Accessories You might have to make your idols look a bit ridiculous by combining strange things, but if that gets you higher stats and helps you win, so be it.

There's kind of three different ways to beat Jupiter - to try to get as high of points as you can per each appeal (aka keeping your multiplier higher longer), to prevent them from bursting as much if at all, or to burst more than them. It doesn't look like you have anything that will help prevent them from bursting, so you either have to keep your multiplier high or burst more to try to get more score than them.

High score option: You have Rinkamo's Amulet. If your stats are best in vocals and/or visual, this will help you the most, especially if your highest is visual. If it's visual, appeal on vocals until you get the visual multiplier to 1.50. Then just keep appealing visual until you can burst. After you finish the burst, use a memory appeal to get your multipliers to 1.10 and repeat everything I said before. Since you have Mami in your group, switch to her for bursts. Dance will be at 1.50 multiplier before you burst, so every time you have to do dance during the burst appeal, you should get a lot of points.

Many bursts option: Equip Sugamo-chan Amulet and just try to burst as many times as you can. This isn't an ideal option, honestly, but this did help me win against Jupiter in one of my very early run throughs of the game.

For some reason, the high score and preventing them from bursting options work for me the best.

Oh, and I really recommend bursting with Mami no matter what stats you have. She will likely get you more points than Yukiho or Haruka, especially if your dance multiplier is high when you burst.
