The iDOLM@STER Anime Ep: 04 discussion

digi162:
Much better than last episode, but for being a very dramatic episode, it kinda lacked any sort of deep-felt drama.  You didn't really connect to Chihaya's pain until the very end of the episode, where you could see how drained and sick of the situation she was.  So by the time you got to know the real Chihaya, the episode was pretty much over before you could delve more into her character.  When she "ran away" in the episode, they really could have taken the opportunity there to really showcase how caged in she felt.  However it wasn't really showcased until the end, perhaps on purpose so you could be in the dark about it like the producer.  Also it seems to me Takane is upstaging the producer each episode when she imparts some wisdom into whatever they're doing haha.

Not a bad episode, just average and not worth rewatching...I'm hoping things pick up after episode 5 since it looks like that episode is the typical beach/hot springs episode.

SereneMidnight:
I really loved this episode, probably because of Chihaya.

Still, can't wait for the next one.

pariah164:
I have really liked all the episodes so far, and this is no exception. I did feel super depressed/angry after it was over though. Can't wait for episode 5.

azuyuki:
They'll probably go over Chihaya's backstory a later time, assuming they'll do it, her backstory in general is something that would require at least a full episode for. I also liked her active participation after the producer's pep talk.

Also is it just me or are they trying to make Hamzou the mascot of iDOLM@STER? Not that I would mind, the Hibiki and Hamzou scenes are teh lolz.

s8C:
The Chihaya stuff was just a B Plot. The episode was all about Takane's fursuit fetish.
