i would not buy it as long as the price is high..

i should wait till im3 is out and the DLCs is just lazyness...  honestly they should try to make this game into 1080p

Games in Japan are generally 50% more expensive than US games and can go as high as $120. There is a budget version of iM@S2 coming out which is just under $60:

It's not going to get cheaper than that, so just get it. It will just get more expensive if the game gets out of print.

There won't be a iM@S3 any time soon, like in a few years.

PS3 can't really run games at 1080p very well and it has nothing to do with Namco.

Namco just likes to milk it with DLC which has reached over $1000 worth of content already. I already spent over $200 on the DLC songs and costumes.

Yeah there won't be im@s 3 for a loooooooooong time. They haven't finished milking this game.

Anyway, the Asian version was cheap when it came out. And yeah, now there's the best edition. Besides, I think most people on this forum didn't have any trouble forking over the money for another game.

edit: and before someone says something about how I complain about the DLC...all DLC packages work with the Asian Version. You just need another account to buy them.

I'll dissect this down into its parts:
1. Japanese goods are always more expensive. It's mostly due to the style of living. This game is a little on the expensive side by Japanese standards, but it's not that surprising considering the game is a niche game (Unlike a major franchise like MH/FF/DQ/etc.). Look at the prices for those games in Japan and you'll see that it isn't that bad.
2. The DLCs are expensive for two major reasons: 12 people need to record the songs, 3/5 people need to motion capture, make the costumes, QC it, etc.
3. 1080p60 on current gen consoles, barring PC for obvious reasons, don't truly exist for one reason: The consoles are getting old and outdated. 99% of "1080p" games are upscaled. The number of retail (read: disc release) games that actually output 1080p60 on consoles can probably be counted on one hand. The upcoming consoles probably won't output 1080p60 properly either. When games actually run at 1080p60, PC games will probably be capable of running at 4k (horizontal, not vertical).

Can't forget that the USD/Yen exchange rates are currently crap, thus making it slightly more expensive to buy anything from Japan... but PS3 games usually cost more than PSP or DS games... Believe it or not, my imported copy of Pokemon Black 2 costed $55 (4571yen) without shipping. Yeah, it's not too bad, especially now since the cheaper copy is out.

I guess we're gonna get either Colorful Days (more likely to come first) or I Want, it's kinda obvious with all the backwards DLC. We'd hopefully get the fruit costumes from anim@s (though I don't know about Ricchan) and naturally a punkish goth costumes for I Want.

I'm still holding true to the dream of a 876 Pro or Jupiter takeover catalog, with new songs and costumes.

Hm, Kazahana... It doesn't strike me as a song that could have a dance, but I'm not against it.

Also, does anyone else think that the CG idols will become DLC before their eventual iM@S game? Maybe I should be asking how possible it may be. It just seems like we won't get iM@S for awhile and I'd love to see them onstage. Plus it could be a potential monetary gain for Namdai.

Curse my half thinking. You're right, I guess it depends on if they're willing to.
I didn't really think along the line of a new song, they could just cover an existing song, say Uzuki would cover shiny smile, Rika cover Do-Dai, Rin cover Marionette no Kokoro... Aaaaaand I'm getting off track >_<;

Well, Uzuki, Rin, and Mika's seiyuus aren't that well known yet, so they would probably be able to do it.

Maybe we're getting the exercise wear & accessories with Colorful Days since it doesn't have a song to go with anymore and the elf accessories already came out with Overmaster.
