Saying that the 3DS can't produce graphics much better than SP is complete nonsense. Resident Evil: Revelations makes the PSP look 2 generations behind. The only problem with the game is the lag while loading.

As for novel type games, you're forgetting the Professor Layton series, which has roots in the visual novel genre.

Layton isn't really relevant here. Loveplus is, but it's a dating sim, and those are getting scarce. For novels, the PSP receives most of them, usually ported eroge (from Prototype, 5pb., Alchemist, etc). Nintendo lacks the widescreen display and 720p to make this worthwhile for them.

I'm up for the latest catalog.  Despite the 360 getting screwed over (which I'm not on board with personally), I'm still somewhat glad some of the previous DLC is showing up in this fashion.  I was worried they'd try to put out something new and perhaps something old simultaneously.  I've already fallen behind a bit recently, and that would be the straw -> camel's back -> ouch deal.  I've been waitin' for these accessory sets and outfits for a while.

A Ryo is fine too.  I'm a fan of "Kiramekirari" and it does suit his image fairly well.  Though I will admit... I was hopin' for "relations" myself.  Either way I'm up for it.

while the Vita has the potential to produce something like a lighter version of iDOLM@STER 2.

Yeah, this I can see. I imagine they'd probably do something in a similar vein as L4U (assuming if it were ever to happen).

Oh, so you mean a simultaneous release on those two systems or something? 'Fraid I'm not quite getting what you're getting at, but from what that sounds like, there'll be something extra for those that buy both versions. Yes Namco, we all know how you roll. ^^

Oh, I just meant that I'm not too big on "ports with benefits" within the same gen (Im@s 2, Gal*Gun, Mamoru-kun). I've never liked it when it happened in previous gens either. I just prefer that if it were going to be multi-platform, do it on release so it's a product on equal footing, rather than one version '"beta testing" for another.
I do understand the mind-set behind it (as well as Sony's whole policy on that), I just don't like it is all. It just makes me wary to ever buy anything claimed as exclusive, on release anymore. :P

Anywho, sorry for the derail.

Since everything's going to end up PS3 side anyways, I'm just waiting for L.O.B.M. and Overmaster. Still my favorite songs of the bunch.

Nintendo dislikes moe garbage.

Is that the same reason why Nintendo made SHAFT (maker of a many moe anime) to do an anime short with designs like this?

Anyway, probably wishing on a starless sky, but I still hope the 360 does catch-up, or have its own DLC that'll be released to the PS3 later.

This is the first I've heard of Nintendo having some kind of policy against either NVL/ADV games or "moé garbage." They've got plenty of both on their systems and a lot of it is still coming out. In the first case, you have stuff like 999 on DS, which is getting a sequel on 3DS (and Vita, but that's beside the point). In the second case, you have pretty much half of the Japanese library because that's just the kind of art that sells now.

SHAFT (maker of a many moe anime)

It feels pretty wrong to hear someone label Shaft like that. I mean, granted, they have done moé shows, but what studio hasn't? Most of Shaft's best shows aren't like that.

So anyway, when does the DLC hit? Release dates are kind of all over the place from the past history and I'm not sure if/where Namco drops specific dates beforehand.

SHAFT is probably the worst example I can think of, you might as well bring Studio Ghibli into it while you're at it.

Heh, don't worry I gotcha. We cool, no one likes it either. ^^

Sorry for coming across as snarky to you if I did, I was trying my hand at humor, but eh. Sorry for sidetracking everyone too. I'll just sit back and like... eat cookies or something. -_-;;

Kiramekirari for Ryo?  Odd, I actually was expecting THE iDOLM@STER.
Nice pleasant surprise.

Creating a JP PSN account (haven't touched PSN at all in months), procuring a JP PSN card, downloading the catalogs... I'm not completely opposed to purchasing DLC, but considering there are many more things I can buy speedily, I don't know when I'll get around to it.

If you wanted this long, I do have some general advice though - If you're willing to wait another six months (After the trailing catalogs are complete) I'd suggest to do so - price drop.

There's a reason for that one of course, but that's assuming the plan is remotely similar to what I was told a few months back.

I'm surprised they moved the schedule up faster than expected though (We were supposed to see out next month to close the anime cross promotion before getting the back catalog - I guess they decided the Jupiter push wasn't worth the effort, although they could just reshuffle.) although now would be about the time where they could break their support agreement.

Of course even if the PS3 does get the other 5 outstanding catalogs, it's still got a (relatively) minor problem - there's still exclusive items on both sides of the isle.

I can possibly see why Vampire Girl was pushed up.  Here in about a month the latest ANIM@TION MASTER will be released, and it is advertising the song's availability on the disc.  It was teased in the anime at the very least with the second opening, yet never made an appearance in the broadcast run.  There is still that matter of the extra episode on the last BD, so perhaps it will show up there?  Maybe even Little Match Girl will be released in such a fashion on disc?  I can dig it.

Sound like a good plan to push up this re-release at this point.  It could drum up some support for the CD when it's released here in a month.  I hope it's a proper full song, at which point we can all han over it then.
