Why would BRS be in Project Diva?

Because Miku sang the song Black Rock Shooter which popularized BRS. BRS would also make a lovely costume for Miku.

Yes, but I would only buy for my favorite idols. So this wouldn't be a problem for me.

Says the person who complained how difficult it is already is to pick up stuff from PSN earlier.

Why? Two reasons (apart from cost):

a) You'd add in another TEN license downloads PER SONG. That causes enough issues as it is. I have enough problems with the current PS3 setup, simply because of the fact that PSN isn't very reliable to BEGIN with.

b) Presentation issues. Namely this - It'd run all sorts of checks to ensure only the correct idols could be selected for the songs purchased, right? Good. Now start making a cross matrix and matching up each song with each idol and determining each one. It becomes a mess, and the interface doesn't readily allow for it.

So good luck trying to remember which idols you've picked up for which song. It's a spagetti mess with the accessories list as it is, and now you want to add in idol differentiation for songs? REALLY?

I suppose for your preference you'd like a per idol costume and accessory sale, since it'd be cheaper for you as well, I guess?

All of that being said, I'm sorely tempted to forward the suggestions to my contacts at NBGI and suggest them away, purely for revenue raising, because raising the cost of DLC by 20% with no apparent downsides would be appealing.

I'll also make a special request to note that it was on your request and if you don't mind, I'd like to request an email so you can recieve feedback for it. I think they'd appreciate the execution enough to credit you directly.

All the Japanese will know who to thank for the suggestion. Please let me know if I should actually let the guys at Namco know, because I'm more than happy to, and I've had success with some suggestions in the past.

As for everyone else? This should be a cautionary tale - THINK THINGS THROUGH BEFORE SUGGESTING THINGS. Sometimes someone WILL take you seriously.

Let's take a breather and relax folks.  I think everyone's just tossin' stuff around for fun, it'd be a bad idea to take much of this seriously.  DLC-per-idol would be messy to implement I'll agree, as the current engine doesn't seem to support the idea.  Even if such a thing were to happen (complicated patching and all that jazz), I don't see why they couldn't offer such a thing.  If NamBanCoDai ever did, I'd like to see "packs" of songs for the price they've been selling at.  Then I'd be on board with it, but I realistically don't see it happening.  I'm quite happy with the way things are currently, perhaps we'll see some more (or returning) functionality in a later iM@S game?

As for licensing music from real idol groups?  I really don't see that happening either, as that would involved quite a bit of fuss just to bring it into the game.  The group mentioned thus far belongs to Avex, and I doubt Columbia would be too happy with NBGI tossing something from a competitor in there.  Licensing (what type, how long, yadda yadda), planned distribution (game-only, CD in the future, whatever you can imagine), profit sharing (... can be a nightmare when dealing with new partnerships), blah blah... it all gets messy and money slim when it's all said and done.

Nice to dream though, and who knows?  NBGI does strive to put a few covers on their CDs, so at least they're makin' somewhat of an effort to get nostalgic.

I myself toss around the BRS idea as a "that would be super swell" type o' deal.  Whether NBGI does, via some spry chance, add BRS to iM@S2?  Then rock on, but I won't hold my breath.  Overall the general opinion seems that fans are pleased with the DLC thus far, it'd be silly for NBGI to waka waka with it now.  It may not be the cheapest out there, but the content is well designed... so I'm all game.

Let's continue to have fun everyone, it's much more awesome that way!

Ah... the "I'm all game" pun wasn't quite intended.

Yes, Miku sang the song, therefore the song could be in the game. BRS is an original character by huke, she isn't a vocaloid.

I see this often, it's a common misconception.

This is true. But it's only this game. I have never had a hard time downloading DLC for SP. I have several of the DLC packs for SP. The only one I couldn't get was the Ranka Lee costume which I didn't even like anyway.

Nice to dream though, and who knows?  NBGI does strive to put a few covers on their CDs, so at least they're makin' somewhat of an effort to get nostalgic.

inb4BRS=/=Miku

All I was asking for the song and a BRS costume. I know BRS isn't a Vocaloid. Neither is Sonic the Hedgehog but he's a costume in Project Diva Extend.

EDIT: the BRS song and costume in Project Diva, not im@s 2

I don't know why but I laughed hysterically when I read this.

It still feels too soon to state something like this in an iM@S thread...

Nope, I know what you meant, but some other members would recall this one person with an obsession of iM@S and Sonic...

Can someone explain to me how the colour-changing dress in Catalog 4 works? Does it change Colour at certain times?

I heard it works its magic around the middle of the song. It depends on which song though.
