For you to get full playback, you are required to have unlocked or otherwise have access to the DLC or items in question. They provide limited access to the items as basically a 'preview in action' of the DLC items in question. You'll have to buy the DLC, which of course costs money. (With the odd piece for free, usually an accessory of some kind.)

If it wasn't the case, we'd just have one person buying all the DLC, then having that one person constantly releasing PVs for playback by other people to record. They like their money too much (considering how much money the im@s DLC makes them) to design it any other way, well, not without reverting to the old L4U method which simply was 'If you didn't have the DLC, you couldn't watch it period.'

I suppose it's better to see a snippet of the DLC in action to decide whether to buy it or not, over not being able to watch it period. I know I've bought things that look great in a still shot, yet weren't quite what I expected when I used them in-game.

On an irrelevant note, I finally got iM@S 2 for Christmas. Very happy indeed. I'm thinking that perhaps I'll go with Makoto (leader), Yukiho, and Takane as my first unit. :D

Hey does anyone know/have a hypothesis as to why Asia isn't getting the DLC?
Catalog 3 never appeared except in game and Catalog 2 just now got images. Still no songs.

edit: I'm not getting the Japanese ones...they should make it easy for me so I'll spend my money. They can just do without.

Not entirely sure. Someone suggested licencing issues, and someone else suggested it was a Sony side thing. Given these two someones are working in the same company (albeit different divisions that decide who actually carries out the deployment) no one's really quite sure.

That doesn't make sense.
I was able to get DLC for the PSP games for my Asian version. The Asian version even had a free gift that came with it when I bought my copy.

Makes sense to me though, the PSP game doesn't have any songs that appear in a certain anime animated by a sony subsidiary. Also, I don't think Asia PSN had the kapibara and other external licensed stuff either.
Non-JP regions might or might not have the rights to use those songs because the anime isn't officially licensed there. Both reasons mentioned by setsuna sounds plausible.

But I have Ready...==;; ?

Sides that doesn't explain the entire lack of catalog 3 and really long lag on uploading images for catalog 2.

You have Ready, because it was on the disc.

You didn't need to download Ready, and when games are licenced out for regions, they usually (almost always) come attached with licences to use whatever the game comes out with.

Well, you could probably rip the songs in question out, which has happened in a few cases, but you'd not have Ready on the game CD period, and would be complaining about that instead.

Have to say, I really love that swimsuit Chihaya's sporting. Is it just a black version of the Angel's Swimsuit, or what? If so, doesn't that make this the first G4U outfit that can't be used in game? (Barring the Winter Casual, which appears in game, but can't be used on stage.) Or am I just unobservant? (I'll be honest, I care more for the DLC songs than G4U.)
Vol. 5 had a white recolor of the 765 School Swimsuit, like how Vol. 6 has the black recolor of the Angel's Swimsuit. This game has a lot of swimsuits. Are they ever going to release a G4U without one? I'm sure a lot of people like swimsuits, but they're idols, so can't we get a volume with 2 idol-costumes in it, at least? orz I like seeing that this one uses an Extend costume and is on a stage.

I know seriously.
I'm looking forward to the kimono edition which will surely be coming since the outfit is in the game but as far as I know there is no extend costume for. To me, kimonos are super idol~ish. I think it would be a great gravure shot.

I loved seeing the promotion with Haruka in a kimono, I can't believe I didn't even think of them making a kimono themed gravure 4 you. That's a great idea, I totally agree.

Some of the idols like Miki put their hair up really cutely too.
And to see Azusa rocking a kimono/yukata with a summer festival in the background would just be too much... *drool*

oh yeah, btw, I had a question. I saw some people talking about this on a youtube video.
Is that beach stage the only stage with real shadows? And does xbox360 have real shadows?

A lot of the stages have other lights interfering (and I mean virtually all the stages). So no, not really, but it applies to virtually all the stages across the board on both versions.

Yeah I felt bad because I think I accidentally told someone it works on all naturally lit stages, but it really only applies to that one stage.

It's not an uncommon thing to have even daylight stages have light applied to them - basically there's spotlights and other lighting pointed down at the actors/performers even in broad daylight, (and this is standard even in the field on real sets by the way so it's not an im@s thing). It's fun what a little bit of lighting can do to your looks.

So yeah, it's not surprising that every outdoor stage with any sort of set at all has light effects on them. The beach stage is the most obvious one where there isn't a stage light in sight.
