It's the hardest thing ever, and you should abandon hope should you ever-

Okay, I'm kidding. I would advise not to walk in right off the bat though. If you know how the flow of the game goes, can reliably land an A rank in PS3 normal mode, and you come in prepared with a decent costume set and charm set and a good amount of money in the bank, you should not generally have too much trouble.

If you don't have a feel for CD sales mechanics though, you might struggle. (Basically, knowing how to invoke breaks, superbreaks and revivals)

Alright, thanks for the info. I wasn't planning on doing hyper mode yet. I want to keep playing on Normal mode and learn the game more first before trying out hyper mode. Because I know this isn't the type of game where you can just mindlessly blow through and get an A or S rank on. But I kind of like a little challenge of having to strategize and think about what you are going to do and I know im@s 2 is that type of game.

I got a PS3 for my b-day, so I finally get to play my Asian version!  :D  :D  :D

My unfinished resume can sit on the back burner for a few days, I guess. ...Yup.

the anime, for the record, highly exaggerated a lot of stuff like their hair and some of the movements too
like the hair is still fairly accurate but
sweet jesus did it bounce WAY more than it should
So I guess in comparison the game's movements look I guess a bit more stiff huh....

There's also some stuff in the game that don't move that should (miki's jacket should be moving more, for example) because of model limitations I suppose.

I've never been a fan of the anime's character designs, but I like the way they presented RESTART in the anime more.  With judicious use of cuts, a larger stage, and more motion, it really felt like a performance.  Anime characters can change direction on a time and violate physics, but I guess the game models have to follow more rules.  Funny, I was recently thinking how hard it is for real people to pull of the game's dance moves.

And yet they can burst/memory appeal then snap right back to the choreographed dance. One can imitate the anime version almost shot for shot given enough takes and enough time as the choreography is almost identical though.

By this you mean- ordinary people or trained dancers?
Because obviously they were danced by real people.

Or are you talking about the dance moves in general and their asthetics?

I haven't ever bought anything but I've looked at the catalogs.
Are they not showing up for you?

They show up in the catalogs, but when I select a song, it shows no price and it says something like "There are no items that you can purchase at this time."

Everything else has HKD prices on them.

Are you doing it in the PSN store or the one from inside the game?
Try using the PSN store manually by going under disk add ons. The iDOLM@STER 2 can be found under T.

I haven't been able to find the songs in the PSN store. Just in the in-game catalogs. (But I'll try searching some more)

Edit: Nope! Haven't found them.

I haven't played through the game yet. I wonder if I need to do that first?  ::)

I don't think that will change anything; I've heard similar reports that the songs don't show up on the Asian PSN at all. It seems pretty strange you can't buy them at all. However, the Asian version is compatible with the Japanese PSN, but not the other way around (Don't know why that is) and the songs show up there.

Yes I just checked and they don't appear at all which is extremely strange.
Catalog 2 also has all the images missing except for a few. o_O

No love? or is this some licensing issue?

So Japanese DLC works on the Asian version? Oh that's good, yen looks a lot cheaper to buy than HKD.

That's really messed up. Looks like I'm out 200 HKD because all I want are the songs.  :'(

I guess I'll try the Japanese PSN at some point.

Edit: What's funny is that Kamisama no Birthday from the PSP games is available, so I don't see what the deal is.   ???
