Sorry to hear about that.   Which version did you order, Japan or Asia?  I think a couple of us are currently waiting for our copies to arrive (JP for me).

So this is my first time playing an iDOLM@STER game ever and this is probably a total noob question, but I was wondering if the characters are fully voiced throughout the whole game. I just started up the game and was wondering if I was supposed to actually hear the characters talk. If they are supposed to talk is there any option I should mess with to turn their voices on?

All characters that aren't the Producer and nameless people are voiced.

Okay, but my problem is that none of the other characters are talking...not even when I play their introduction video when I'm supposed to select my leader.

Did you watch the whole video? The first part is a pan up and then they talk.
I mean this in the nicest way possible when I say that if you have never played the game before I can't fathom you actual turning off the vocals (because I'm pretty sure it's impossible)

Yep yep, everyone's mouths are moving and their text is popping up on the screen. I used the menu translation on the gameplay wiki to turn the character voice volume up to the max and still nothing.

And you're certain it's not your television?

I am pretty sure. I hear everything except the character voices. Even during the vocal lesson that I just did a piano sound was being made instead of Takane singing the notes. This is quite distressing, I can't play iDOLM@STER without the character voices!

Did you play around with them sound options?
There're 3 options, vocals, bgm and voice settings.

Yep. I messed around with those a bit. For the vocal and music volumes, Haruka is singing to let you hear the changes that you're making, but for the dialogue volume there is just silence no matter what I do to the volume bar. There is a little box with some japanese (that I can't read of course to complicate things further) that pops up as soon as I press the start button but before I get to the main menu. Is it possible that that message could be telling me that there is something wrong?
