I know I'm like a grouch at everything, but does anyone else think it's weird that they're like...using the anime to advertise this release of iM@S2? Like the game is based on the anime instead of vice-versa. There's rarely a PS3 thing that doesn't have the anime plastered on it, you know?

I feel the same way about it. It's like one giant commercial.

Anything to drive sales!
We have miku hatsune, the anime, what's next?

You know, there's nothing like the "good old days". Maybe that's why everyone adores SP because it's pretty much a direct arcade port with similarly styled graphics. I can't hate on im@s 2 because I haven't played it and heck I'm buying it...but it seems they've lost a lot of people on the way

Nah. I use comparisons a lot, but Persona 4 (Anime -> Persona 4 The Golden and Persona 4 fighting game) is doing the same thing. And whatever works for sales. I was surprised to see people on Siliconera interested in the games because of the anime. I also feel the anime and game are working in tandem. I don't get the feeling that the game is based on the anime, or even that the anime is based on the game (even though this is the true scenario).

And again, Namco just whores out their games in general.

I'm just going to say what I like about the new catalogue:

I LOVE THE SONG. AND THAT RED CHECKER UNIFORM. They're so awesome. X3

I also really like the new Starry uniform, though I could care less for the other two.  Or the sailor swimsuit...

Also, am I the only one who REALLY REALLY likes having Miku in the game? I think it's an awesome addition, myself.

Of course, it feels like they should be showing us more of Jupiter's S4U. Or at least, it does to me. We haven't really confirmed that school uniform for them, have we? And I'd LOVE to see them get a new song.

EDIT: Just found out that the song isn't ENTIRELY new. Oh well, it's still awesome. ^_^

I'm surprised miku hasn't been the target of m@ds yet....well maybe I just haven't seen any.
I'm still a bit weirded out by her in that style but maybe I'll get over it. :D

AND THAT RED CHECKER UNIFORM.

Too bad Mikimiki wasn't in that part of the video...woulda looked good on her.
Only DLC I might get.

This.
But if you want to be literal I think she's simply like a rival (like RK or Jupiter).

Now if you could actually produce Miku Hatsune...
This game would fly off the shelves and be sold out 5 minutes past the midnight release. (Do they still do that?)
I don't think they'll make her a producable character but hey, we're talking about the ps3 release. Now I seriously think nothing is impossible from them.

Minus Project Mirai, Miku is known for being on PS consoles with Diva and Dreamy Theatre.

Any people who buy it just for Miku that don't know Japanese are going to be pretty stumped when they boot the game up, but in the end more sales are more sales.

Precisely.
Project Diva and Dreamy Theatre have an easier UI if you don't know Japanese.

iDOLM@STER will take much more trial and error for a patient person...and if you're not patient you might give up right away!

Yeah, all of the Miku games require absolutely no knowledge of Japanese to play. iDOLM@STER is a pretty different experience.

True. I know the first time I played SP, I was very confused since I'm still learning Japanese, but eventually I managed to figure things out. It helps in SP that at least some of the menu titles are in English, but otherwise it requires a lot of trial-and-error. Out of all the iM@S games, SP is probably the most import-friendly.

I know they're using Miku to get more sales, but I get tired of seeing her everywhere. Too bad they don't use some of the other Vocaloids. SF-A2 Miki and Miki? ;)

They aren't owned by Crypton. That's why they don't appear at lives or in games. The only Vocaloid that have a hope in hell are the main six and they'd sooner only put Rin and Luka in if it somehow got that far.
