Dear Azusa and Haruka,

Would it be too much to ask if you could grow your hair out?

Thanks,

Dear Azusa and Haruka,

Would it be too much to ask if you could grow your hair out?

Thanks,
Cael
To Cael,

If you told them do to that, then it wouldn't be called "iM@S 2" anymore. (At least call it, "iM@S 2.5".)

Yours truly,

I heard that people are complaining about how 360 users have to waste money on MSP to get their DLC costumes and the PS3 users can get the 1st - 3rd DLC costumes for free. (They also think it's not fair in many ways.)
This is a big "duh". Honestly, think about it. Buying the entire content of each catalog will cost you a minimum of 4500MSP (minus ones that have more than one Extend, or ones with the 300MSP accessories). In USD that'll cost you over $60 (which will only buy you 3500MSP). I'm sure it translates badly from JPY to USD, but even given the increments MSP cards come in, DLC is a bit steep.

So, you have the dedicated fans buying all this stuff every month, and then NBGI turns around and says "j/k lol we're giving it away for free!".

As I haven't bought any DLC, I'm not personally insulted by their act, but I could definitely understand why people would be miffed about that. Though, to me, this also gives less incentive to buy DLC...like, seriously. If the PS3 release is happening it's happening, but essentially all the stuff in the first 3 catalogs has "no value". Who is going to go back and buy that stuff now? :s Though, I'm sure people will buy it if they really want it that badly.

I'm not a supergenius and I didn't think about this a ton before I wrote it out, but WHILE most people can be like "huh...the PS3 game is $100 and it would cost me way more than that to buy 3 catalogs of downloadable content. Get!", it's really inefficient to own both games for the actual gameplay (if NBGI releases catalogs monthly for both systems), unless you stay off of the DLC, of course~

I couldn't imagine NBGI wouldn't take at least somewhat of a hit on their DLC sales for that act, honestly...but then again, fanboys are fanboys, and they could just rage until the next catalog comes out and still proceed to buy everything. XD

</rant> I honestly didn't mean to write that much. XD

Well...There are some fans out there that refuse to buy any of the DLC costumes. (Or 'at least' buy some of the DLC costumes but not the whole thing.)

Good thing I didn't buy the game yet. There should be free DLC for people who bought the 360 version and all the current DLC.

Gravure 4 You reminds me of the DOAX games, which come to think of it, would be a cute and fun game to play if it was gonna include everything DOAX does. :D Sadly, I don't think this kind of game will happen, though. XD

Who is going to go back and buy that stuff now? :s

I personally don't have any DLC yet. I bought a 3500 MSP card recently. It hasn't arrived yet, and when it gets here, it'll be all blown on stuff from catalog 4 (my favorite catalog!). But whenever I buy more MSP after this card is used up, I'll go back and buy stuff from catalogs 1-3 for my 360 version. I don't see any point to buying DLC that I don't care for, and the amount of DLC I want from catalogs 1-3 is less than the cost of the PS3 game.

Well...There are some fans out there that refuse to buy any of the DLC costumes. (Or 'at least' buy some of the DLC costumes but not the whole thing.)

Do you blame them? Honestly, the im@s DLC is ridiculously expensive for DLC. Even when it gets marked down to half off, like all of the im@s 1 and L4U DLC is currently, that's still a lot. And if you're outside of Japan, you have to deal with buying from an importer site usually, and they do mark up prices a little bit (yes, even taking currency exchange difference into account), which makes getting the DLC even more costly.

Think about it. Even 1 300 MSP accessory will easily end up costing you ~$7-8.

Considering the free MSP I get from the Xbox Rewards program and Bing under my US account, I really wish MSP could work across all regions.

Well, valid point. It's just not worth it to go back and buy full catalogs for the bonus DLC anymore...not at the prices they're at XD

I hate to constantly complain about the cost of DLC I probably wouldn't if I wasn't broke 100% of the time, but I honestly think it's a bit too much. Wish we could summon the minds of the Japanese fanbase and cause a DLC-strike of sorts to get the prices down :P

I wonder if they'll cut prices on 360 DLC on the first 3 catalogs with the release of the PS3 version in October...

I just have a quick (and very important) question...
I just read on youtube that the PS3 version is region free...
can someone tell me if that is true?
because if it is, I will explode from happiness. D:

The PS3 is indeed region free. Throughout the topic people voiced their worries that game companies are now able to region lock their games' discs. It's possible they'll do so with Idolm@ster 2, but I personally think they won't region lock it, given Namco's history with their games (none of them have been region locked).

If you want to be sure, wait for Tales of Xillia (another Namco game) to come out in early September, about two or so months before IM@S2 does. If it's not region locked, it's likely IM@S2 won't be either.

Besides that whole potential region locking thing, I've played with two Japanese PS3 games on my American PS3 just fine.

Now all we need to know is if our North American PS3s will read the disc....

Let's hope so!!!!

With that whole region thing kept in mind...
did they say anything about an "asian" release?

I would like to get the asian version v. the japanese version just so that I don't have to make a new account for the dlc.

Doesn't the Gravure 4 U thing come in the normal edition?

Anyhow, for $89 this is without a doubt the normal edition. Here is the limited edition, not open for pre-orders as of yet.
