Agreed. The PS3 version looks a bit smoother, but really, the difference isn't much unless you're being really nit-picky.

The only HDCP stripper that I know of off the top of my head is HDFury. I don't have one myself, but ever since my main VGA box died, I've been thinking about getting one. 'Course I could also get a monitor with HDMI input and be fine too...

And about the rebuilding, I was under the impression that they didn't repurpose code from Im@s1 when they made it in 2010 for the XBox, which is what I was referring to (Im@s2 360 -> PS3 is a port, Imas1 -> Im@s2 360 is a rebuild presumably to allow the port to happen). If I'm wrong about that, though... well, I thought I heard that in CEDEC 2010, but I guess weirder things have happened...

From my discussions, im@s2 was a full rebuild but it was built on a third platform and ported across to both. Technically though, im@s 2 was ported to both systems (and has the potential to be ported to a third) from their engine.

As for the HDfury - it's not technically a HDCP stripper. It's mostly a format converter which takes it from HDMI to component.

Since you can fire a true 1080p signal down a component, it's mostly pointless for the PS3 for gaming (it's relevant for any Bluray movie content though and I need to look into it for capture card signal interception reasons) and it does save me a partial headache when it comes to capturing the stuff.

I imagine there'll be people who'd want an uncompressed recording (and I'll shoot exactly 10 seconds at about 800MB) of the footage for people to scrutinise every uncompressed pixel. Don't see the fuss though, since for most people, they're never going to GET the X360 version ever. :P

Less than a week to the release. I know I am excited. Oct 27 is not only the day Imas2 on PS3 gets release, but my B-day too. It's going to be a big day.

4 days to be precise! (Yes, I have been counting down my days for 92 days) I'm so excited! It will be my very first Im@s game!

Just a silly question, I pre-ordered my copy on Play-Asia, but will I receive it on October 27 or will they send it on that day? (Which means I would receive it like one week later). Sorry, it's my first time pre-ordering something...

They'll most likely ship it on the release date, and you'll get it a week later.

Honestly, if you're really excited, can afford it, and they're not at risk of running out (I doubt they are), I'd go up to FedEx shipping if you don't have it already.

I was excited for iM@S2 on the 360 and used FedEx shipping with them for the first time, and I got my game in one day. ♥ My Xbox probably would've been here in two if customs didn't intercept it...but they can't intercept the game if you're in the USA. :>
