Also, with the exception of images and non drm movies, content downloaded from PSN are account-locked.
uhm, do you mean locked as in who can download it? because I've used Mainichi Issho which I downloaded on my JP PSN on my US PSN account perfectly fine and even earned trophies for it. I've also used DLC that my dad payed for on his account on mine no problem. While I can't say transferring it to another PS3 would work, once it's on the PS3 any account that is hooked up to a profile on there can use it from my experience.

That is correct.

The account that originally purchased DLC, whether it's free or not, is the only one that can redownload the file.

Any account on the registered PS3 system is allowed the usage of any DLC  associated with any account on the system. Services including special subscriptions and avatars don't count because these are tied to an account

Also, one PSN account is allowed to be registered and used on 5 systems and 5 handhelds simultaneously for back-up purposes; system failure etc, though many people use it to share DLC and/ or split costs.
Though illegal to do so, Sony can't really do much against it.

I have a question.
Would the Asian version of IM@S 2 work with a Japanese account? I assume it would but I just want to be sure. I mean, even if it isn't I could still use the jap account for DLC but W/E, I'm just curious.

Sure, you can use your JP account just with an Asian version of the game, though the same can't be said about DLC. PS3 DLC use stricter rules than PSP ones.
If you intend to get DLC it's best buying it from the store with the same region as your game;

Let's say you're currently using a JP account as your main, all your friends and trophies are there.
You can buy and play the Asian version just fine but JP region DLC most probably won't work correctly on your game.
In order to use DLC, unless Bumco adds some revolutionary new security system, you should make a secondary user on your PS3 and register for an Asian region PSN account. When you want to purchase DLC you should use this account.

Like mentioned before. any account can use any DLC associated with any account on the system, so because you have an Asian account with valid Asian DLC you can use and play the game with DLC on your JP account.

TLDR; It doesn't matter which region your console, game or account is from as long as the game and DLC region are the same everything should be ok.

Yeah they just screwed me into getting an Asian account for SP by giving me free DLC.

Glad you were able to get it. :D
I accept your virtual hug!

I wonder if this game will use the asian controls (like in SP, circle for accept, x for cancel) or the american style controls (x for accept, circle for cancel). I also wonder if it will make use of control elements like the sixaxis controls, L3, R3, etc.
I'm hoping the asian version comes with an english control sheet like SP.
When the demo comes out, can someone please map the basic controls?

I could  give mapping it out a try. It shouldn't be too hard. I have a feeling they're probably going with the Asian controls, personally but you never know, I guess.

I have the bad feeling I'll be pretty much archiving most of my playthroughs. I stream all the games of im@s I play live, so I'll see what I can do.

If it helps any, I could also walk through the gameplay in person live if you need a session on understanding the game, when I get my copy in. I guess I'll be like Kotori, without the idol career preceeding it.

Although if you count the X360 version... </bad joke>
Games are streamed at www.hitbox.tv/Aliciana/

I'm pretty sure the game will piggyback on whatever region your console is from. I've seen this happening before - the American version of a game in a Japanese PS3 using O as accept and X as cancel, and vice versa.

Oh. 'Cuz on SP it was Asian even though I have an American PSP.
