This is quite strange, I bought several DLC for PSP with HKD and nothing like this has ever happened.

So Japanese DLC works on the Asian version? Oh that's good, yen looks a lot cheaper to buy than HKD.
That's what I've been told anyway.
That's really messed up. Looks like I'm out 200 HKD because all I want are the songs.  :'(

I guess I'll try the Japanese PSN at some point.

Edit: What's funny is that Kamisama no Birthday from the PSP games is available, so I don't see what the deal is.   ???
Like I said, the Asian PSN does not have the songs through the store, but you should still be able to purchase through the catalogs; SP works differently than iDOLM@STER 2 as the DLC structure is different (Buying DLCs for SP are the actual DLC files; In 2, the catalogs hold all the DLCs, the DLCs are simply licenses). If you still can't purchase it, I recommend the Miku DLC. I believe it costs 158HKD.

Edit: Just tested buying songs using my HK account; didn't work either. That might be because I'm running the Japanese version though.

By this you mean- ordinary people or trained dancers?
Because obviously they were danced by real people.

Or are you talking about the dance moves in general and their asthetics?

Ordinary people.  Oh, I'd completely forgotten about the motion capture.  And now that I look at my original comment, I guess there aren't any impossible moves, just plenty of awkward-looking ones.  (I've seen Youtube footage of someone doing the semi-trip from Shiny Smile- that looks like it takes some coordination).

Who's listened to the full Animation Master 5 soundtrack?  What did you think of it?  I'm thinking of biting the bullet and springing for it- I could get it by Christmas if I act quickly.

I think it's a great collection.  It has fewer BGM tracks than the previous releases, so whether or not that's good depends on your preference.  Some of the songs have newer versions, like MEGARE is a group version while previously I think only solo versions existed?  Of course the premiere songs are Jibun REST@RT and Marionette no Kokoro.  There are two bonus tracks; a 16-minute one that sounds like an audio drama, and a 10-minute one that actually is just clips of all the songs that played during the episode 13 concert (not as unique).  The BGM tracks that are there are good ones in my opinion; they're the quiet and melancholy Aoi Tori and GO MY WAY!!.

Well, I gave in and bought Kami Summer through the Japanese catalog and it works on my Asian version. So, I can confirm that Japanese DLC works on the Asian version.

On a diff note from all the dlc chatter, really curious myself but I haven't had a complete chance to compare. I've only touched my copy of PS3 Im@s2 once or twice, each time during the new catalog release. I plan to play it more eventually but anyway. . . Is it me or is the IQ on the PS3 version not as good as 360?

Does it work the other way around? I mean, getting DLC from the HK store and make it work with a JP copy.

From the people who've tested it for me, it seems the answer's no. It could be done (It's the same data after all) but I imagine that requires a lot of rejigging (namely, moving the DLC into the right spots on the PS3).

Aww, I only wanted Jibun REST@RT. It's going to cost me a fortune, especially since I'm already drowning in a huge debt with my brother :P. Thanks for the info  ;)

Even if it worked for your version, you wouldn't have been able to get Jibun REST@RT anyway because the songs aren't available in the HK store - none of the dlc songs are.
