Now time to have some fun and do some math for the win. Well, not ours, since we're more likely to get a heart attack instead...

To get the Catalog 2 complete item you need:

Juuban Rest@rt - 1800 yen
Kami-sama no Birthday - 1200 yen
Christmas Extend -1500 yen
Other costumes (pack) - 1980 yen
Christmas accessory pack - 980 yen
Silver special pack 1 - 1480 yen (And a top 20 posting)
Extra stage - 800 yen
Pearl necklace - 0 yen (but required)
Forgot the charm - 800 yen

That's... 10540 yen.

Well, there goes the money I had banked against it, then some.

The compendium won't be updated for at least two weeks with all the items. Sucks too, since I had it all ready and all...

Edit: Forgot the charm actually counts. My bad.

As much as I love the ENTIRETY of this catalog, that charm has me interested. Another triple burst? I think it looks really freaking cool, but... is that all it does? Does it makeover all burst appeals, or just the triple burst? (Meaning the RK amulet is required? Or is it? I thought I read that somewhere...) And are they going to continue that trend? I mean, I kinda want to see what other charms they'd throw at us if they are...

To comment on the PV and the catalog itself, it's full of love for me. Seriously, two songs, a stage(the stage being something I called a while back, actually), awesome recolors, two sets of accessories, and that charm thing which still intrigues me. And it's Christmas themed. I love Christmas. ^_^

Well, considering I know the next two catalogs and their tentative cost schedules (Trivia: Did you know the prices actually went down a smidgeon compared to their drafts?) it's been known for a while.

With the charm, you have to wear it. There's one charm spot in the costume setup, so putting it on adjusts the burst.

... it also means I might as well add a PS3 specific list - charm setups, although not very many people ask for bursts these days...

Better links:

Kami-sama no Birthday is vocal.

I like that each catalog comes with at least one free item, so everyone gets something. :P
That's the free item you get if you buy everything else in the catalog. :< /party pooper

That's the Azusa thing at the very bottom of the page.  Further up at the end of the accessory list is a neck wool for ¥0.  Back in Catalog 1, the free item is sheep horns (with the buy-everything bonus being the Miki onigiri head).

Oh, oh, nevermind. Geez, when I read that I went back to the catalog page and scrolled up and down multiple times. I didn't even see that before. Whoa...

Man, this is like true discrimination against Xbox users oAo Curse you, NBGI. I'm happy for the new PS3 users but gah. Why did I buy that limited edition TT^TT

You mean apart from the fact that the X360 DLC is slightly cheaper item for item than their PS3 counterparts?

The DLC is too expensive for me to buy on the 360 version, regardless XD and besides, it's actually cheaper to buy the PS3 version than it would be to buy 360 Catalogs 01-03 in full (especially Little Match Girl. I forget if that was a LE bonus or a preorder bonus, though). Not to mention the PS3 version has 2 extra songs on top of everything included in 01-03, and there's legitimately free items in the catalogs.

Trust me, I'd buy the PS3 version in a heartbeat if I could. Though, then I wouldn't have my sole DLC Stylish Denim anymore, which would be pretty sad. Best Luxury recolor ever.

I got bored and ran the numbers (Yeah, I'm weird, when I have a little free time, I do math) and found out depending on the exchange rate, the X360 version is cheaper by the points purchasing than the PSN is via a straight yen purchase.

At the moment if I recall correctly, it's holding about a 5-7% margin although it fluctuates. Essentially, eventually (if this keeps up) if you buy 9 catalogs on PSN, you'll have 10 (and a bit) on the X360.

Little match girl was a preorder bonus, not a LE one.

There's a real bargain in the PS3 version, although you can't actually get the DLC complete items for catalog 1, 2, or 3. (So a bit of misrepresentation there.)

There's also the fact that two items are not in the X360 version (The Ghost Hands and the Big Winder) and two items are not in the PS3 version (The Pom Poms and the Anywhere Art.)

Why is anyone's guess.

For most part, the PS3 version comes off significantly better off (but that's what getting 7 months extra development time gets you) although it's not all one way, and there's still the ability to patch up the X360 version due its design via a downloadable purchase(Although unlikely).

Overmaster and Kyun! Vampire girl are arguably two of the most popular songs in the lineup, and they're both X360 only at this point in time. We're not going to see a catchup for a while, to say the least, and it would actually be somewhat amusing if they decided to go all out devisive, and make it so that some songs would stay exclusive to both. (Well, amusing for me, but I expect the im@s community to start riots if that ever happened.)

I think if you don't sit around and do math for iM@S, either you don't buy DLC or you have no plans to XD

And how is it that you can't get the complete items for 01-03? I thought they were all included in the game by default. I've even seen the shironeko accessories in it?

And yeah, I can give that the 360 has Kyun!Vampire Girl and Overmaster. Well, and L.O.B.M, not that that's as popular XD I guess I'm thinking of in-game advantages rather than DLC ones. because I can't buy them. Ohoho.

Though, when the PS3 version gets those (it's inevitable, I think) the 360 version better be getting Nanairo Botan. :1

Oh, I forgot to mention. The considerably improved on-stage camera controls in the PS3 version. You think NBGI would at least have mercy on 360-users to fix that up in a free patch? orz

I don't understand what NBGI's problem is.
One summer ago, it was xbox exclusive, completely loyal to their xbox fans...and now (even though I own the ps3 version) it feels like they're totally ripping you guys off...o.O
The game was the same price and yet ps3 comes with a ton of extras.

But they can't! Because even though there was recently an im@s update for ps3, I've heard that creating patches (and more importantly making them available) for xbox games is more work than its worth.

The 360 version also had a patch (around 1MB) recently as well.

There's 3 items missing - the hamster for completing catalog 1 (Never could get the thing to unlock myself - you need the mobile numbers), the hamburger ring from completing catalog 2, and the racing flag in catalog 3. They're supposed to be there if the entirety of Catalog 1, 2 and 3 are present, but they're well, not.

So technically not true, although to be honest, how many people actually KNOW they exist? What they don't know won't hurt them, or something anyway... so I better keep quiet.

On a serious note, from what various suggestions and discussions I've had, it was floated to add some (if not all) of the extra parts of the PS3 game via either an append disc (most likely a rerelease) or via a download, but it'd be a charged item. (But what were you expecting really?)

From a technical perspective, the PS3 version is just an extended build of the X360 version. (Like I said, 7 and some change advantage in extra time)

All in all the X360 has six and a bit catalogs in DLC that the PS3 doesn't have, a slightly cheaper DLC pricing, and effectively a 6 month head start. The PS3 has more starting features, some unique novelties and a lower starting cost. It also has the novelty of being run on a system that you don't have to import first.

It's not that clean cut (And I say this as an owner of both) although if you're starting out and have no intention of EVER buying any DLC, the PS3 version wins hands down (Assuming you somehow got a X360 out of Japan for like 2500 yen or something. With it, forget it.)

If you're not in it for MAD work, (Namely you don't really care about subtitles), then it's more of a question if you like the novelty that's S4U, The RK extra episodes,  the RK new song and costume sets and what DLCs you like. Having access to six catalogs early (And not missing a beat and still have six catalogs in front)  has its advantages.

If you need them both, well... You're stuck with what you have to do. :P

Small note about the DLC:
The Snow accessories, is it saying you need the "Best 20" trophy to access them, like the White Cat accessory set was for the 360 version? (though I vaguely remember it being a different achievement)

also, seems the freebie for everyone is part of the "Cow" set?

Personally I'll at least get Jibun REST@RT, though I'm thinking about some other things as well.

The White cat is 'Producer rank 3', and it applied to both. I believe the gothic set (Catalog 4 X360) was 'hit a top 20' to unlock and buy.

I'm guessing the DLC is just snippets from L4U (The horns are a part of that classic set, and for some odd reason, were strangely popular to see Yukiho wear in M@D work. Never figured out why though...)
