iDOLM@STER in the new generation

--- Quote from: Elixir on March 10, 2012, 06:21:29 pm ---The second game pretty much only went to PS3 because it sold poorly for 360 (like, 33,000 first week) and the exclusivity deal expired. If  there wasn't an exclusivity deal involved, the first game would have also been released for PS3. I mean they did it for Eternal Sonata, Tales of Vesperia, and Tales of Graces (from Wii). This kind of business practice happens all the time.

I've said this before, but I would go so far as to say the port already existed, or was very close to complete by the time the XBox360 version came out - a February release followed by an October port only leaves eight months maximum to react and add new content on top (at least one or two that would have had to been devoted to sales evaluations, potential or post-mortem). Add to that the fact that by October, the anime would've been out for one 13-episode... season/course in the hopeful height of media attention, I would say that would be the most opportune time to release a game at all (rather than after it's finished airing in December). I also want to guess that closing air date deals with TV broadcasting companies would be done at least 6 months in advance, in January in this case (I'm no industry insider, but my gut tells me that's a generous bare minimum)...

This wasn't reactionary, it was planned.

Regardless, what system would I want a potential portable Im@s for? ... I guess the Vita, if only because I have more faith in the hardware. ^^

So I went to the im@s website and was greeted with this

Now, I can see that it says 4 days, and the iM@S mobile in the top left ...
Can anyone translate?  It's clearly an announcement of some kind.

See it yourself?  Or is this just me?

(Mods, delete this post or the new thread - http://forum.project-imas.com/index.php/topic,1628.0.html - sorry for any additional work)

"New Project Starting in Four Days"

Hmmm...that is quite interesting indeed.
Once more information goes up we can start a new thread.

RoninatorMarx:
@nublet & animagic: Even before Cinderella Girls, iDOLMASTER MOBILE existed long ago. If this means anything, it's just an update to that, probably bringing the iMAS2 canon into effect (currently I think it uses SP canon). Though don't quote me on that. Anyway, there's no thread for it on the Products section, so you can bring it there.

Back to console.

@Neko: I guess I poorly worded it. I apologize for that, but it doesn't change my stance that they will put it on whatever console they choose, region-locked or not. If they want to bring iMAS out of Japan, they'll localize it, hopefully, just with subs.

@animagic: Well, Nintendo has this thing called the eShop for the 3DS. On the question of does it have DLC compatibility, well, they can experiment with it now since it's young. Besides, DS had one too (probably more than what's recorded in the Wiki (not following the scene)) so possibility is there.

animagic4u:
Well yes I know. But I don't think they would make that big a deal about just making iDOLM@STER 2 new canon.
Because that may or may not upset fans.

I'm looking forward to their announcement no matter what it is though.
