I live in the SoCal area so I could easily go to AX every year but never do.  I usually just end up viewing all the cosplay photos my friend takes at the event and laugh that they're all videogame characters.  Never really had any motivation to go to the event.

I would approve of a project-im@s meetup/lunch event though outside AX.  Gather up several of the forum members or people interested in talking about Im@s and I'd love to come on down.  Bring ya PSPs and we can do an impromptu SP tournament.

I just heard they're doing Exhibit Hall passes for 10 bucks a day, and it's free after 3:30pm.  VERY TEMPTING FOR ME TO SHOW UP.

Hmmm, I wish I could go to Anime Expo, I'm gonna try to make it my goal for next year!

Though I live on the east coast, so an added expense would be transportation over to Cali. Maybe I should ride Amtrak! Should be fun!

It's a bit late to plan one I think at this point.  Maybe next year we can plan a formal forum meetup there or something?

Where exactly on the east coast?  There's only two Amtrak trains I know of that head out east.  The Sunset Limited that goes from Los Angeles to New Orleans, and the Southwest Chief which heads from Los Angeles to Chicago.  They both take two days to get to point A to B, and cost about 200 bucks for single trip ticket.  If you had friends willing to come along it would be fun, but you might as well fly over since the cost would be the same :<

Ah, the biggest station with Amtrak that is closest to my home is 30th Street Station in Philadelphia. I have a pretty good feeling it would take several days to get over there anyhow.
