I know this is a bit off topic, but why do OC Idols like Manami Kohara get their own topic, while ones like the ones I do get a generic OC topic?

Because I believe while yours are taken from other places, Kohara here is an original creation, thus is allowed her own topic for discussion.

... Okay guys, I have a bit of a problem. I just found out the new producer for 876 has the same name as our Manami.... should I just keep Manami's name the same, or should I give her a new name? (On that note, Kaoru or Kaori would probably be what I'd pick for her...)

Hibiki's seiyuu's name is also Manami.
