Resources?
« on: July 19, 2009, 01:28:06 am »
Just wondering if anyone can point me (and anyone who wants to help with this) towards some things like CD covers, track lists (DRAMAS ESPECIALLY) and kanji lyrics?
Any other resources that'll help us fill the wiki are most welcome here, too

The first two should be easy to find, e.g. http://www.gm-spirit.com/imas/index.htm

Maybe you can do a reverse image search on the small cover pictures there to find larger versions (www.tineye.com)

For kanji lyrics and anything in the jacket/booklet you need to get a good torrent/Perfect Dark hit. Probably the hardest part of that being remembering where you got it in the first place so you don't download the same thing again.

Yeah, but the problem with that is they don't list many of the dramas.
Well, some.. But not very many, which is what we need most right now in the wiki. So far, all I could find were yahoo.jp bid links on drama cds with the track list. And even THAT doesn't guarantee much...

If you know the title, you can get the tracklist from Amazon Japan.

And if you search for アイドルマスター there, you will probably find every iM@S CD ever released in stores.

Right now we need sources for the lyric writers, and the song composers, if possible. Does anyone have any places that would be good to go look for that?

Lyrics writers and composers are shown in the in-game song selection thing. For non-game songs, CD jackets I guess? And for background information on them wikipedia.jp and nicopedia will probably be our best bet.

It's true not even Columbias iM@S website gives out the information about composer and lyricist in general, and there does not seem to be anything on the Japanese iM@S wikis either.

The CD inlays can often be found in torrents, though. And if nothing else works, try google for the song title together with 作曲 and 作詞.

Problem solved. :D As far as the lyricists'/composers' names for the original songs go.

As for information on the lyricists/composers themselves, I've started doing some research on them and here's some very basic info and resources for further research that I've found so far. Many, many more to go   :(

Ooh, I remember looking for scans of that before, but without any sort of success. If you could upload them that would be truly awesome! Beyond awesome even.

Note.

Also, I'll be scanning and cleaning all 16 of the original songs eventually, but requests are possible.
