My computer broke. :(

I hope you'll be able to recover your data, or that you have a backup. Did you end up getting a new computer back in August?

Just happy.

I had to eat one full meal a day as Lent season has started in my country. No meat is allowed.

A little scared. Just woke up hearing some noises of someone being beaten. And then...
"Argh!"

"You crybaby! You coward! Pick the gun!"

Some seconds after... Bang!

And well... that was so real for me.

No, it was still my old one, thankfully. I managed to get some files, but... Yeah. I had that computer for 6 years without a single repair, so at least I got my money's worth out of that one.

That sucks dude. :( Hope you are able to get a new one soon.

Anyway, i'm fine I suppose. Could be better but i'm fine.

I have a new one now, but I lost all of my bookmarks and all my saved games. I also lost some college work that's taken me a few months to do, and the deadline is tomorrow...

... Hopefully that's not the one that broke. ;_;

No idea. I just figured that, since it was breaking, now might be the time to get a new one anyway. I had my friend sort it all out for me because I'm still as tech retarded as I was last year, lol.

Anyway, i'm doing pretty fine. kind of funny that I have nobody to be with for Valentines day but don't even care enough to complain or go emo about it like a lot of people are doing. lol

Well, somebody was being beaten, and then... shot in the end. A case of someone being murdered in the street (and just near my home. But... I think we can say that "everyone" is OK). Strangely, my mom heard nothing. It happenned 04:30 AM (Yeah, I woke up because of those noises and screams). I doubt it was a dream, most because of the "Bang!" part. Besides, my place lacks security.

I would like to say that...

Witnessing a crime is always scary. Even if the victim is unknown to you, it's hard to ignore what's happened. Crime is hardly impersonal; for those who have the good fortune of living in affluent neighborhoods, crime is little more than a story from a distant land that only happens to "them." They don't notice the unsavory business that happens behind their backs in the confines of nice suburban homes. When you live in an area like yours, sometimes you feel like you can never be safe.

I'm sure you probably know this already, but one of the best defensive techniques you can employ is avoidance. It's much easier and sometimes works better than any self-defense weapon you can buy. Walk confidently, know where you're going, be aware of your surroundings, and above all, don't appear nervous. Maintain a strong posture, keep your head up, and look straight forward. Travel in groups if possible. People are much less likely to bother you when you 1) travel in packs, or 2) look like you know the area.

I hope you stay safe and don't let this get to you.

Man, I had a similar experience when I used to live somewhere in Texas a couple of years ago.
I woke up one night, and suddenly heard a woman screaming, and then BANG. Nobody else in my apartment was awake to know it happened and I told everyone what happened. Thankfully nothing happened to my family or friends. Though, I did feel a bit furious at my little brother who was probably 11 and said he wanted to hear it, you cannot imagine how scary it is until you actually hear or see something like this happen. And I'm already paranoid as it is.

Anyways, I feel really sick. My mom has been ordering pizza like everyday this week and a couple of days last week, so I think it's finally getting to me.

About the only thing that comes close for me waking up to a big bang was when an ammo cache somewhere out of town blew up. One of the bullets went off in the night and set the entire thing up in flames - I heard talk of mushroom clouds, it was visible from quite a ways away. I think no one got hurt.

Other than that, I remember the time someone ran up to me and my friends 'cause he just got mugged and didn't know what to do. He was so panicked, he tried to sell some CDs in his backpack to us for replacement cash, but we calmed him down and called the cops instead.
