I'm glad I quit school after 20th grade.  No more school for me, ever!

Every day toward the end of this semester of college seems to be getting worse and worse. More frustrating, I've been in tears by the time I reach home... just so stressful and becoming a real chore/waste of time. It's already a waste of money... wayyy too expensive. x.x I CAN'T WAIT TILL NEXT FRIDAY!!! Seriously.... you can't teach us something and tell us to never do it... and then do it yourself/tell us otherwise when we do our work. So stupid.

Other than school - I am happy whenever I'm home and gaming. x)

I know what you mean. I take online classes and it seems to get more and more stressful for me each term. Now I am at the point where I am just feeling unmotivated half the time because I feel this is a waste of time and money. I just want to get out of college pretty soon so I can go find myself a real job.

Enraged.  Struggling at work, wish I did not have to deal with uncertainty and lack of direction.

Are you me?

I've been ignoring one of my classes....and yeah, I don't think there's any hope for me in that one. All my worries kinda go away once I get home.

Kinda.

YEP! I can relate!  Me and this COMM class... x___x like seriously... everything we do in the comm class has pretty much NOTHING to do with my course :/ I hate that we have to take gen eds and such... if they're fun and easygoing - COOL! But really? When it comes down to it my priority will always be my major.. x.x

And also -

I know what you mean. I take online classes and it seems to get more and more stressful for me each term. Now I am at the point where I am just feeling unmotivated half the time because I feel this is a waste of time and money. Agreed!!! So unmotivated as well! I never liked school as a child (obviously not including hanging out with friends). And I noticed from college this year, that it makes me sick. Like I mean physically sick too. As well as I've become even more impatient and I also have an even shorter fuse and I want to hurt people/yell at them for certain reasons. @-@; I don't, obviously... but when I get so mad over small things sometimes I'm like - seriously? O_o Here's hoping we can cope for a little longer without completely ripping our hair out. I'm here to lend a hand/shoulder/ear/whatever else! :)

Anywho - mood? Eh. I need to milk my Saturday for all it's worth because unfortunately on Sunday I have to travel 2 hours away from my house to go work on a project. Woohoo. Is it next Friday yet? :/ I hate when school people wanna do school stuff on weekends. NO. I see you from Mon-Fri. Kindly stay OUT of my weekends. That is me time. x__x

Very amused.

My mom wanted to go into some chemist/pharmacy shop to get some new facemasks and shampoo and some other weird stuff for beauty that girls get, so I was like “okay I’ll carry the bags for you”.

We got in there, she headed straight for the condom aisle, got a box of 50 and went to the counter, put them down, turned to me and said, “is that enough for you, do you think?”.

It took me a moment to think of a fitting reply, but I said “no it’s fine I get them free at the clinic”.

And we both started laughing to ourselves in this pharmacy and then mom put the condoms back like HAHA NO JOKING WE JUST WANT SOME SHAMPOO.

Very upset right now to the point where I was crying. I did a lot worse than I thought on my midterm exam for Calculus and from the looks of it I don't have much of a chance to pass this class with a C. Now I am starting to have thoughts of withdrawing with a W right now.

Oh man, that must suck...did you need that class for a requirement?

I don't know. But I am assuming that I do which is why I am taking it right now.

Well, think of it this way: You know what you need to work on.

Assuming that you can still get a C:
Study more and/or find ways to remember things. I don't know if there's free tutoring services where you are, but using those would help. And do a whole lot of practice problems.

Also, remember that Yukiho would be cheering for you all the way.

Calculus is one of those courses where you either know everything or you know nothing.  I failed calculus the first time I took it.  Eventually I passed it by making sure there wasn't a single concept in the book that I didn't understand.  If there are any gaps in your knowledge then it's impossible to learn the material that builds on it.  Practice problems are great.  There were some problems in my textbook that were really cleverly designed to teach you things; I wish I had kept track of which ones were the gems.  The biggest difficulty, though, is that in higher education there's often not enough time learn things thoroughly.  I wish I could help you out, but it's been many years since I've used calculus, so it would probably take weeks for me to understand my own notes again.

I remember one of my Calculus finals. I was like, "Hmm, I can't possibly study everything in this little time, so I'll just make sure I know everything up to the last quiz we had."

Question, like... 2 (a). Find the eigenvectors and eigenvalues of this matrix. I'm actually embarrassed to say I didn't know that at the time (if memory serves, they're really easy to do), but hey, it was taught in the last two weeks, so I really passed it up. Next question...

(b) Using the answer you got in (a), solve...
(c) Using the answer you got in (b), solve...
(d) Using the answer you got in (c), solve...
...
(i) Finally, solve this, using the answer you got in (h).

... Okay, 30 to 40% of the final right here. What did I need to increase my letter grade? 90 some odd? What did I need to not drop? Like, 25?

Ha. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAHAHAHA...

But in all seriousness, most my experience in math comes from finding meaning in numbers, taking a concept and understanding it in numbers, and daisy-chaining ideas until you get to what you want to find out. First step is to understand what the numbers mean, and why you should use one equation instead of another. Unfortunately, some people don't really tell you what they mean, or what they could be used for, and that just means a lot of people just think they're solving for x. I know that's kinda genero advice, but hey... that's really what math is supposed to drill into you, I think. It's not really about the integrals so much as it is problem solving.

Me personally, drop or not, all I'd be able to think of at this point would be my sweet, sweet revenge on this subject one day. It will be delicious, like gulping a cup of condensed milk. Also, the above taught me what happens when you hinge your bets like that.

Calculus reminds me of my Chemistry courses right now -- One mistake usually results in a snowball effect leading to losing at least 10% of the total grade on that test/exam. I didn't do too badly when I took Calculus, but that was because I took AP and only the last third of the course was new material, resulting in me slacking for the entire course. I still don't know how I didn't just completely fail that course at the end.
