I'll admit, he's what got me interested in the franchise.

I do wonder how his story plays out though.
He's the director's favorite character, and probably for more reason besides being a crossdresser.

In my opinion, the reason why Ryo gained a boom in popularity is because he's the first ever character in iM@S to fall under the crossdresser category. (Notes that a lot of anime has crossdressers XD)

Plus, it's really an interesting story. Like, why's he working to become known as a female idol? Will he manage without his secret being found out by Ai and Eri (well, obviously, to some degree)? What does Ritsuko think about all of this, exactly?

Plus, Ryo being a trap makes it really interesting XD

I do wonder if future games do decide to incorporate more crossdressers, would they ever be as popular?
Ryo just caught everyone off-guard, and that's really why he's got such a status now.
