Ryo Akizuki - Shota?!

I'm sorta in the middle with Ryo being a trap right now.
If Namco decides to give him some sort of backstory or motivation for crossdressing as an idol, then I'm pretty much for it.
If it turns out to be some sort of in-joke, or offer no explanation... Namco, I will be disappoint.

Yeah, I heard his solo on Dazzling Word and I must say I did not like it all that much. Don't know if it's because his seiyuu must work hard to sing differently from how her natural voice sounds, or if she just hasn't become used to singing as Ryo yet (which is understandable) but I thought he/she sounded pretty bland and impersonal.

Personally, I don't have much trouble with Ryo being a boy. But to me, crossdressing to fool people and get more attention, is a really lame thing to do. And Ritsuko being in on it, which I think is the case, that's OOC for her IMO.

So all in all, I had much rather seen that Ryo had been a girl.

He tries to get Ritsuko to help him get his foot in the door, she introduces him to some producer who has a live show booked but an absent idol. Ryo gets forced onstage in a little pink dress, etc.


The rest is just my own speculation, but it seems like the direction it's heading in is, Ryo is a hit with the crowd, the glasses lady decides to keep him aboard, but forces him to keep up the girl charade because that's what all his fans think after his debut.

Yeah, I don't know his exact story either, obviously. But as I understand it, it's established that Ai and Eri doesn't know about his crossdressing, and I don't like them being tricked.

And that part of the Dearly Station broadcast where it was revealed, it would not have been good even as a parody to me. Still, it's probably the only big disappointment I've ever had with iM@S, so I'll get by anyway. ^^

in his mind he wanted to look cool and debut as in idol like GaCKT, SMAP, Takki, etc.
and he asks ritsuko for help and she introduces him to the 876 producer, the idol is absent so they need someone to replace, then the fun begins. mohoho

also i wonder what would happen when he starts to become popular and then goes to school one day lmao.
please dont tell me people will think that its just some look-alike on TV.

I kinda like Ryo. I'm actually kind of excited to see how this plays out. I also have my own theory on a possible reason for him to keep his gender a secret from his colleagues. To tell the truth, I've seen a character in a similar situation to Ryo's before. The similarities are there; guy goes to event, scheduled performer is not present to perform, guy is used as stand in/substitute. In the last case I witnessed, the boy was an immediate hit and, while caught up with the storm of popularity, ended up signing some contracts that he couldn't break and so started his career as a female entertainer. I wonder if Ryo's circumstances will be similar as well?

I really like Ryo actually, at first I was sort of cold to the idea of a trap idol but honestly, Ryo is really cute otherwise. I mean if me and Nonowa weren't having our fling I'd totally be all over Ryo XD!!!!
