Started playing my 360 copy again for my Let's Play later and finished a Project Fairy run:

Highlights:
Overmaster as the last song (There should be an achievement/trophy for this!)
All six area festivals cleared
True S rank (ala PS3 Hyper Mode; My first one)
4 weeks left over after clearing the last area festival (Goofed off for one less than I could have had)
3 songs in top 10
Unit was in extreme exhaustion status when playing the final festival, kicked their butts anyway!

Bear in mind it's not quite - Actual hyper mode has much higher targets, and higher ranked events to compensate for the increased CD sales/Fan requirements.

To roughly emulate it, imagine if all the bars required were raised about 50% for festival fan numbers, 300% (!) for CD sales and scores required raised from 45k for top tier to about 60k for top tier scoring, but your gains were raised by about 50%.

Oh and no ability to automatic anything in Hyper. At all. Everything must be played through manually.

It's close enough though, but someone nitpicky would probably decry it. It's fun to play regardless.

I'm saying it's a true S rank as all the ratings are S ranks, like what is required for S rank on Hyper mode (But not the ranking requirements); the 360 version allows (I believe) at least two A ranks. I still need to play Normal mode (Which does not allow autos on Area Festivals, so it requires much more planning for reporters) on PS3 a couple more times (Only beat it once for now; barely missed the True Ending) before attempting Hyper mode.

That was my fifth run on 360 (Four True Endings and one Good Ending). Five more to go... Grind Grind Grind; Gotta love Japanese games for this.

I just finished my third play through. My group was named HelloJELLO(Miki, Chihaya, Yayoi). I finally won one award: Forest Green (woo!!) and made it to producer rank three. However my office didn't change and I am so confused because I thought it was supposed to change at rank three?

If you're playing the PS3 version, the ranking changes are different.

They're now Level 5, 8 and 10 (I think) so it's a bit more difficult.

When you've reached a rank where you get an office upgrade, it won't happen until Week 6 of your next new game.  I think it's Week 6, somewhere around there anyway.  Before the first RK idol-off anyway, so just keep your eyes peeled!

----

I did a quick money-run on Normal, also to finally unlock Beyond the Stars.

Unit: Life=GO!! (it is what it is)
Members: Hibiki (Leader), Haruka (2nd... cause I needed some more positivity or something), Yayoi (3rd... Janken again!)

Song #1: shiny smile
Song #2: GO MY WAY!!
Song #3: Kiramekirari
Song #4: Jibun REST@RT
Song #5: MEGARE!

Visual/Dance, level 15 at the end.  Hyper ruined me.  I did two Paid Promotions early on, then nothing else that would cost more money than I'd make for the rest of the game (besides normal Lessons).  The second up to the last release went to #1 at some point, then sat at #2 through #4 and #6 at the end.  The first did not want to budge after it stopped selling... but it's fine!  Finished True Ending requirements with a number of weeks left to go.  Spent them unlocking the other four stages I was missing, hooray for that!  Managed to catch BK at 10% off, so money went poof.  Heart's Ease Amethyst, I've really wanted it for a while... but not until I caught a sale.  Jibun REST@RT for some reason spat out Lucky Stars like crazy, and I'm not quite sure why that was.

Two things left in both shops, still 4 more gals to finish... and get Haruka a yay ending at some point.  No more using Princess Melody, as adorable as it is.  I really like the attention to detail Beyond the Stars has for everyone's variation, besides just RK.

Two hyper modes down, nine to go. It's probably not the best way to play the game, but at least it gives me a challenge.

The irony of the matter is that even though Miki's run was the least prepared of it (I had money, that's it) Haruka's required more nailbiting to correctly run.

In this case, it was the fact that Ready!! simply refused to break until 3 weeks out from the end of the game (Even though I was applying about 8 weeks of breaks on it!), meaning it didn't clear from 1.6 million to first place until week 53, and didn't get enough to S rank me out of the music sales catergory until week 54(!)

This also required me to alter week 53's national happiness metre with a last ditch paid promotion to turn 150k people from not excited to really excited, but had to get image level 16 on week 53.

It also had an issue where I couldn't get the voltage reporter until week 50 to score 70000+ until week 51, and that I didn't get a break or superbreak the ENTIRE game (and that was with me trying).

The timings were ludricously tight, (I had no time to spare at all, due to the last minute ditch attempt to get over the line) but I did notice that their happiness basically went from normal to the stratsophere. Nothing could upset them after week 22 or so.

The really amusing part? I'm playing with the stock items I used in my Miki run. I still haven't had a chance to go shopping, and now I have 900k in my bank. Amusingly, 90% of my wardrobe and accessories are unlocks given via RK's episode, initial layout, or unlocks via completing storylines (Mami in normal, Miki in Hyper and Haruka in Hyper.)

About 2/3 the charm grid's now unlocked though, and with it about 30-32 of the stages.

I think I'll be taking my time to play through the game slower though, so I imagine that a lot of people will be upset since I can't really fill a lot of the PS3 requests yet though. I haven't really had much opportunity to actually play the game in the last few weeks (with one of the reasons, ironically, the compendium itself).

Here is my amusing "Why playing video games can also equal studying" post for you all....

Today I took the Japanese Language Proficiency Test aka the JLPT.  It was just for fun really.  I passed level 1 a few years back but they revamped it and now the highest version is called N1 and supposedly more difficult than the old level 1.  I think it's about the same (some parts easier, some parts way harder...) now that I've taken it.

Anyhoo, one of the "how do you read this kanji?" questions had me a little stumped... I knew the meaning but not the reading.  Test continues and the same word pops up in the reading comprehension portion.... Once again my mind was thinking "I know this word... I've seen it before..." and THE IDOLM@STER popped into my head.  Yes, our beloved classic theme song.  The word appears in the song and I know the meaning of the song not to mention I can sing along with it so.... I went back, changed my answer, and got one more correct for my test. ;)

I think I'll celebrate with some S4U.

So ends the third of the Hyper runs I'm doing...

The archive on justin.tv (see the signature) has all 15 hours recorded, and see the below link for the final report card.

http://www.mediafire.com/i/?s7d739ea4g6enou

So what happened? Long story short, Hibiki declares dominion over Japan after tagteaming with Chihaya and Makoto and after a little struggle, Japan yields and hails its new divas.

And I literally mean dominion. No prisoners taken, at all. She came, she saw, and she got her way, one way or the other.

She completely and utterly cleaned house - She claimed a top 20 by song 3, claimed her first IA regional in week 24 (!), took out THREE IA awards by week 41 (the nomination) and forced all Jupiter songs to appear before the open (If you rush your songs fast enough, they'll appear on the charts at their starting sales numbers but won't move until they're supposed to appear), claimed Xillia by week 44, and took out Vesperia (well, they call it something else now) in week 50, before claiming the last IA to complete the true ending by week 51.

She walked away with a million fans, and had a 4.3 million number 1. She also managed to cost the producer about 400k (draining the account from that to zero!) before deciding to make the money to replace it and then some.

She also took out the Tokyo region IA (even though that's not required) in week 53. Goes to show it IS possible to clean sweep, although it's incredibly hard on the timings.

All I have to say is this - it was the longest 15 hours I've ever pulled (It was a non stop run.) although it was probably worth it just to prove the point. It did require replaying a few events since everything had to be planned and had to work. It isn't worth winning every little thing, but a clean sweep is good.

@Setsuna: Wow, that's really good. I'm amazed.

Anyway, just started up my first playthrough. I love to think about crossovers, and so I decided to think of my playthrough as a crossover between iDOLM@STER 2 and Ace Combat X2: Joint Assault.

Name: AntareP (Was going for Antares, but that 6 character limit...)

"Looking up to the sky, I realize it's been a year since I was in Tokyo. Well, I wasn't really in Tokyo so much as over it.

I was part of a private military company called Martinez Security, under the M42 Antares Squadron. It was a good enough job after I had left the US Air Force; it paid good money and I could continue on flying. And then the Valahia Crisis happened. From what I could remember, a man named Andre Olivieri tried to make a killing on the US economy. His plan? Fund a terrorist organization, the Valahia, and let them attack major cities for their cause. His company then made insurance policies that would deal with the damage the Valahia made, and people fell for it. We stopped Valahia, only to find out that Olivieri had a backup plan: have his own private army attack San Francisco and reap the benefits once again.

Despite being chased by Olivieri's private army and having no support, we went after him. In the end, Olivieri was killed and the plan was stopped. As for me, I turned from just another squadron leader in a PMC to one of the world's best fighter aces, having destroyed countless numbers of materiel and men, including four planes over the skies of San Francisco that were miles better than even the F-22 I was using.

Tokyo was one of the first cities that was attacked by Valahia, and I can still remember sitting inside the cockpit of an F-15E, seeing the ominous black shapes of the airborne fortress Spiridus and its sister ship, the Orgoi. I remember having to dodge incoming anti-air missles and AA fire as I crippled the Spiridus and shot down the Orgoi. I remember when my allies, Rigel Squadron, turned into enemies over these skies, becoming the nightmare that would be Varcolac Squadron.

So why am I here in Tokyo rather than flying? Martinez Security had to cut jobs in order to save itself, and I was in the chopping block. Somehow, I managed to get a job as a manager for a studio in Hollywood. Okay work, but the commissions weren't coming in as fast as I wanted to. I was looking for something, and an opportunity came in the form of the boss needing someone that was willing to go to Tokyo for a year. The job entailed being a producer for a company called 765 Productions, as a way to train people to become producers back here in Hollywood.

And so, I took the job. And now I'm outside, looking at the sky, wondering how this job will go."

Still haven't picked who to produce yet, the unit name, and the songs. It's going to be a fun run.

I finished my first playthrough last night.

Members: Haruka(Leader), Yukiho(2nd), Hibiki(3rd)

Song #1: My best friend
Song #2: Shiny Smile
Song #3: Do dai
Song #4: Kosmos Cosmos
Song #5: Go my way!

I was really surprised when I ended up getting the good ending on my first playthrough. I do remember that I got within the top 10 in CD sales in Do Dai but it dropped out of it sometime and I figured it had to be in the top 10 when the game ended. But I guess I got a little mislead there. Anyway, now i'm going to use Hibiki as the leader of my second playthrough and then Yukiho in my third playthrough.

I'm not sure if you're a huge m@d viewer, but there are actual awesome crossover m@ds! You should make one of your playthrough. ;)

And now we have the fourth hyper mode complete.

So Hibiki and Takane are at a cafe, and Hibiki's bragging about how she dominated Japan. (See previous report)

Takane's response is simple - You're an amateur. Only 8 million single sales?

http://www.mediafire.com/?u38d81tqyfpq8ga

And for extra fun...

http://www.mediafire.com/?568u3hqh13bmbm6

Her goal is simple, she wanted to make enough single sales to fund her attempt to fly to the moon. She's clearly succeeded, by claiming 20th in her SECOND single, and claiming 4 IAs before her nomination (Instead of 3.)

She managed a revival in week 44, and the revival held off RK's comeback without sweating it. But that wasn't enough for her, so she decided to instead just go all out and go for a one-two, and well, see the second screenshot.

I imagine she's now at the back, getting that space shuttle assembled with all the money.

I can't do a 5th run yet though - I think idolm@ster 2 glitched on me - I bought out the entirety of Lucky Rabbit, but it won't offer the 2nd pass items, nor will it tell me where BK is.

This could be a problem in the long run. If anyone's seen this problem, let me know (or any way to fix it.)

I finished my first second playthrough

Members: Hibiki(Leader), Takane(2nd), Chihaya(3rd)

Song #1: Ready
Song #2: My best friend
Song #3: Megu au toki
Song #4: Megare
Song #5: Shiny Smile

Final grade: C
Producer Level: 3

I could have gotten a better grade but I was going for the best amulet which is the secret crest which you gain from the capitol region that way I can utilize it on my future playthroughs. Along with that I also got a couple of really good amulets which helped me get better scores.
