THE iDOLM@STER 2 Manga Nemuri Hime

Raestloz:

A friend of mine mentioned this for our next (potential) scanlation project, provided we can get the RAW. He knows I like iM@S, and like I said offered to scanlate Break! (to which I refused, the harem seemed to be too generic)

He says it'll be serialized in Dengeki Daioh, drawn by Akane Kotetsu, the same guy who made Vandread, Tsubame Syndrome, and Happy Tail

Last I checked, his style is pretty much post-modern, one generation before today's standard (pretty much around Shakugan no Shana's timeline, after Ah! My Goddess, before Bakemonogatari and the likes, if you catch my drift). I do hope this time they'll do Chihaya justice

Raestloz:
Well!

The drawing style, I can get used to. Since the story is focused pretty much on Chihaya, no harem has been seen. Yet...

The story seems to follow the way relations go, but this time RK is the successful group

I was hoping he'd make the producer a big "P" though haha.

We'd take this, or at least I think so. We have only one TL, one PF, and a few typesetter and cleaner. Not exactly the best scanlator, but at least we have a TL

>: If I see a harem I'll weep.  don't turn into break!

and I can't wait till you guys release this~ if it's following the way relations went, it'll be a for sure read (seeing as I read relations 1000x over everyday... of course that was a joke... in a way...)

It'll kind of be a while before I can get a copy of Dengeki Daioh, being the Earth Quake and all, but I hope for your guys success!

Raestloz:
Yeah, I don't like Break!'s setup either.

Since NBGI moved the time to 3 months after their debut, the manga took advantage of this and made the producer an already-known figure by Chihaya, thus removing the awkward "nice to meet you" encounter like in Break!

The producer also seem to be a well-known figure in the office, although I concluded that only by looking at pictures. I can't read anything but the "sore de wa mata ashita" at the last panel of the intro

Speaking of which, the intro seem to say something about Chihaya, but I don't know what

Also, the office is the usual 765 with plasters on the window. Nice, at least it follows the game faithfully

I really can't take the drawing style after all. It's too shoujo manga-like. And there's a reason they're directed for shoujo and not for shounen, although there are times when the drawing style is not too apparent. As much as it hurts me to say this, overall I like Fujima Takuya better

This is how they look like:

This is how they usually look like:

There is something significantly different, but I can't exactly pinpoint what. Is it the mouth? The eyes? The face contour?

On a side note, DFC for everyone but Miki and Azusa
As for Chihaya, it really looks as if it's non-existent

SalemJeanette:
Raestloz what's the name of your sub group?
