My first encounter was a Nico m@d video on youtube of Haruka's "Daisuki!" cover.
Probably explains why I'm a huge Haruka fan
A video on youtube of Go My Way! with Yayoi.

I know I'm not the only one who shares this experience.

Yep. Related videos. It's madness.

Mine's an odd story.

I used to play the game Space Channel Five a lot when I went over to a friend of my dad's house, so on a whim I looked up a playthrough of it. Towards the end, there was a comment that said "If you like this, check out iDOLM@STER" or something to that effect. I did and, well, I got hooked.

Ah, this is going to be a bit hard to remember, I do remember that it was through nico nico videos on Youtube. I just don't remember which one exactly.

Actually, I think it might have been that NicoNico Douga Medley where I first heard of it. Ami/Mami's version of Agent would be my first encounter with Idolm@ster in that case. Then it went all down/uphill from there.
Days! Just a few days away!

I bought my Japanese 360 to play Blue Dragon and Onechanbara, and was looking for some other Japan only 360 titles.

And here appeared THE iDOLM@STER

A friend of mine made references to it in a freeware game called GeneRally with certain tracks he made.
Initially, I wasn't into it at all, then I read something on Azusa's profile... :~)

I was looking on youtube for videos of Miku Hatsune. I found one of her singing go my way, which lead me to an all-star version of go my way, which lead me to Chihaya singing Positive, which lead me to Ami singing positive, and it all kind of blossomed from there.
My own Idolm@ster fanfic project, Idolm@ster-EG.

I wonder what it is ::)

First time I saw XBOX 360 cover of iM@S in wikipedia I was, like, read a description of someone and point to a random girl and say "So she is this?" and such

Now they're all on the top off my head

It must have been about a year or so ago (since "Half Life Full Life Consequences: Free Man" isn't that far behind it in my favorites).

I can barely even remember how I got to it, but I found a video of Mami performing "relations" with what I'm assuming are what you guys call "appeals" left in. I liked the song, faved the video, then forgot about it for a couple months. (Turns out it has nearly 830,000 views now)
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/zsTvnwbqGqc?fs=1&amp;amp;hl=en_US&amp;amp;rel=0" target="_blank" class="new_win">http://www.youtube.com/v/zsTvnwbqGqc?fs=1&amp;amp;hl=en_US&amp;amp;rel=0</a>

A while later, I found Iori, Mami, and Miki performing Do-Dai (again, I can't remember exactly how I found it).
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/hxmmfopVTTc?fs=1&amp;amp;hl=en_US&amp;amp;rel=0" target="_blank" class="new_win">http://www.youtube.com/v/hxmmfopVTTc?fs=1&amp;amp;hl=en_US&amp;amp;rel=0</a>
Again, liked it, faved, then forgot about it.

Then I got a random message from OCRemix's Youtube account linking to this...
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/5C942mWgbOc?fs=1&amp;amp;hl=en_US&amp;amp;rel=0" target="_blank" class="new_win">http://www.youtube.com/v/5C942mWgbOc?fs=1&amp;amp;hl=en_US&amp;amp;rel=0</a>

Then I got interested and started looking things up. Azusa became one of my favorite idols, "Tonari ni" became my absolute favorite Idolmaster song, and I started getting addicted to the music. The sad things is, I will probably never find a clear, full recording of Eminence's performance of "Tonari ni...". :'(

I really just was looking on a YouTube video on Rie Kugimiya's roles and one of them had her as Iori, then I looked into it and one thing lead to another and all of a sudden I was kinda hooked when I listened to Azusa's songs as I loved her songs and her singing voice being a singer myself.

I was looking up Ace Combat Zero videos on Youtube when I stumbled across a video that had AC zero and Idolmaster in a badass mix.

I think it was this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8xf3Sxvww2A

My curiosity setting in, I looked up the idolmaster and found this site.

Okay, well I mentioned this on my introduction thread, but why not?

... The first time I heard of Idolm@ster was one of those banner ads on Play-Asia. I thought about getting it at the time, but I decided against it, even knowing that it was the only thing keeping the XBox afloat in Japan.

But then, one of my friends mentioned Xenoglossia to me. I thought it was kinda cool/funny that a raiser would be made into an anime about mecha, so I thought I'd give the series a shot. I played the 360 game a bit, and pretty much have been an Azusa fan since.

I got my PSP and my copy of Missing Moon when Chiaki Takahashi came to ACen in 2008. It got signed, among other things, but I think I should've put some ita-sticker on my PSP because... marker doesn't hold well on the back of a PSP. Unfortunately, the SP ita-stickers came out as a magazine gift only after I saw her...

I liked Perfume at the time, then I went on Stage6 and stumbled upon Perfume IM@S MADs. The rest is history.

I watched Xenoglossia in 2008, and liked it. I then researched more about it, and found out it was based on a popular game series called "The Idolm@ster." A few months later, I got my first im@s game, Im@s SP: Perfect Sun. Yes, Xenoglossia got me into im@s.

I know the Iron Eyes will guide me!

Yes, Xenoglossia got me into im@s.
I read this and I went, like, what the holy cow?

Since iM@S could get people into Xenoglossia (and possibly into rage because of it), I guess the reverse is true

On this one Yume Nikki board someone said that they always associated Cosmos, Kosmos with a certain character in the game and they linked to this vid

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lj-nhoUuTA0

And from there I found the honihoni62 full version [the one with the weird romanization lol]. I'd heard of idolmaster and seen Agent Yoru wo Yuku in the niconico medley so I was interested in it. I remember really liking Relations and listening to it like 10 times a day lol

I found this site by googling lyrics.
