Yea i use Sony Vegas 9 as my editing program.
And your raws really run that high? When i record they're roughly 200-300 mb for a 2 min video.

Basically, a fully uncompressed stream is about 140MB/s. Your end automatically compresses come write. The video rate is several gigabit/s I think.
The general totals I get are about 14.7GB for a 2:15 reel.
My 'compressed' versions are about 500MB for a 2:15 video, and I apply it exclusively post recording, which in turn goes into about the 30mbit/s range.
I found that Sony Vegas 9 users (not 9 Pro) can't handle the 30mb/s stream, it sends it into a weird scramble mode. I have to convert it down to 20mbit/s video for it to display (it cuts the video to about 300MB for 2:15)

ah i see. Well it makes sense that it compresses upon writing. Well im using Sony Vegas Pro 9 64 bit program (Sorry if i didnlt clarify that, i thought there only Vegas Pro 9, not a normal one as well), so i dunno if 30mb/s stream will run on it, i just know that whatever i record on my Hauppauge works on my program so i run it like that.

For most part at 140MB/s, that's faster than most standard hard drives can do (apart from SSDs, SAS or a well configured RAID which can clear 180MB/s+) so I wouldn't be too concerned since it's unlikely you'd be able to handle playback properly - Well, unless you want absolute perfection or you're working with high end post production (I used to post 64GB USBs to some locations, so I deal with quality levels far beyond what you're used to.)
The Happauage works well for the pricetag, but yeah, you're not really asking for the raws, because the raws are a LOT higher than 500MB for 2:15 (And it's even possible to clear even the figures I quoted of 140MB/s - you need to work with 4:4:4 colour bits, or from memory 12 bit colour, which I don't have access to yet)
Given the above, I should be able to help, although you'll be recieving MP4s, if that's fine. I know the Sony Vegas limit, so I can code to it.
