THE iDOLM@STER > iM@S 2 video requests
iDOLM@STER 2 + S4U request thread

--- Quote from: Setsuna on June 06, 2011, 03:57:57 pm ---Now THAT one's a challenge if I've seen one. I've been grinding through the regular requests, but this one's a technical challenge, and I LIKE technical challenges.
This one will require you to give me more information, because I'm thinking of at least three ways of doing it, but I'd like to ask a few questions first.
Firstly, do you happen to know the native maximum resolution for your ipod touch? I don't have the technical specs of the ipod touch (I don't own an apple product) but I'd need to know the resolution so I can calculate the aspect ratio of the device.
I don't think I can actually provide a youtube video for it (I suspect I'll not be able to upload it correctly, and youtube will just decimate it), but what I WILL do is (Once I hammer out the details) provide a customised file for your use.
I can see how the shot was constructed in both the camera angle used and the cropping (the video isn't actually natively 1280x720, but rather a zoomed in shot of Live for You's screen) and then rotated 90 degrees, and consequently resized back to the 720p standard. (The Iori loading screen was cropped in)
It may take a while (Somewhere in the vicinity of a week or more, since I'm only deriving this from principle) but would you like a fully customised job? If you REALLY want, I can even attempt to snatch a Makoto loading screen for you just to tack on at the start.
I'll need to know how big you want the file, and I'll see what I can do for you.
Let me know if you want this one to be picked up, and I'll need what answers you can provide for me before I can get to do serious work on it.

Ooh boy n_n''' Sorry, I didn't realize how complicated it would be to do so.
First off, the resolution is 960-by-640-pixel resolution at 326 pixels per inch.
I don't really understand some of the things you talk about, but if you know a way to get that video with that shot angle (which is really only for easier viewing purposes on iTouch), then I'm happy with whatever you manage to do.
I don't think the size of it is an issue, because it's a 32gig iTouch, and even with all of my stuff on it now I've only used about 4gig.
The Makoto loading screen idea is very cute, but if it's too much of a hassle I'm not bothered by not having it n_n
Also, don't worry about taking your time with it. I really do appreciate whenever/if you can do it.

Also, for fun, I've decided to make a sub-group to Desserts :P They're called Eclaire~ xD;; [/endsilliness]

Azusa moment I think. Sometimes I can't count. I really need to stop hanging around Takashi... No compendium, or standardised request system can withstand the force of having an Azusa moment.
The reshoot is:

I've also think I've figured out a way to name a group without overwriting the preset. Maybe. I'll do some experimentation.
Some experimentation, and it seems that my theory works. I guess I can now open up a new service. (Namely, I can alter the group and as long as it doesn't save, it won't do anything funny.

Setsuna:
Please note - All requests I've managed to find (Barring the most recent request by Logan, a reshoot for Logan and KarateKat's special request) have been posted.
If you've been missed... You can probably know what I'm going to say next, but I'm going to say it anyway. Pick the one that you can handle. (hopefully the truth.)
1. Request not specific enough.
I'm not going to guess, I have enough problems with plain old screwups at my end.
Just because I have worked at postal offices, mailrooms and in adminstration on a corporate level does not automatically grant me the powers of precognisence. Even if it did, I'm not going to expend that sort of energy on your request. I'd rather try to figure out the winning lotto numbers instead. :P
YOU know what you want, and the compendium is there to ensure that you GET what you want. Don't tell me now that after you know what everything looks like that you don't know what you actually want. It's not going to fly with me, and I will (Unless I'm incredibly bored) ignore the request, codified or not.
And as I said previously, you are not the only one I'm dealing with. Yes, it might be minor for you as a single request, but when you get 20 of them, it works out to be a major headache.
2. Not Coded.
This is always going to be a time thing. On a slow day I might be able to sit down for a while and puzzle out some of the vagularities (Or get bored enough to throw darts at the board. Take a pick) of some requests.
I haven't had a particularly slow day in a while, and I DO have a million other things I should be doing. Like living life, I suppose. I probably spend too much time running requests here as it is, and I should try to cut back.
Not coding your requests makes me get less life. And usually ties in with reason 1, which makes me less human and more likely to shoot at you.
3. Must have missed it.
A forum isn't the best of ways to track, but it's all we got, so consequently we do what we can manage. If you don't fall under catergory 1 or 2, most likely you're here. Please repost and we'll see what we can do for you. I apologise for this one, but going through 4+ pages back and still tracking done/not done ones is tricky. I'll be happy to field all requests.
(This is despite the fact that the request list is skewered at the moment. I may be tempted to offer incentives to request the lesser requested ones just to balance it out.)
Thank you for your attention.

For most part, mist isn't something you can specify - You either get it because the song dictates it, or you simply don't. Currently only 2 songs force the mist version (Me Ga Au Toki and My Song) and it's there for reference.
Apart from that though, it can be picked up and put into the overnight run, although the midnight express seems to have hit a snag.
Well this might help the averages a bit. It'll get there at some point.
After that update was done, the total is now 26x Kyun! Vampire Girl. If we were running the im@s Tokyo pop top 100, Kyun would be top of the charts right about now.
