I'm still upset that the kinokuniyas in the Bay area banned that magazine just when i thought i'd found a place where i could purchase something iM@S related

They're banned from Kinokuniya? No wonder when I went to go look for the magazine, I couldn't find it. (Lives in Seattle.) :P That's a shame...

Chihaya birthday image on iM@S official site drawn by the anime director!

(image)

Wallpaper, banner, and twitter icon version here:

Seems that there are more to come ::)

I'm still getting used to the style since it's a bit different, but Chihaya looks cute. Looking forward to the other banners. Happy early birthday, Chihaya~

That's too bad, but I guess it's no surprise, Americans are a bit touchy when it comes to bishojo magazines. Because Americans like to file lawsuits, the typical stereotype. I swear, I saw Megami at Kinokuniya once, but that was a few years back, so I guess things have changed.

And so another iDOLM@STER product eludes me

I know...forcing us to dump extra money on sites like J-List...Japan's a lot more open-minded when it comes to things, I guess. :P I mean, I don't find anything that wrong with most bishojo magazines, and I'm a girl; I don't get offended. I wish I had a job. My parents think my obsessions are a waste of money. :P

What are hobbies for then? To waste time and money!
My parents already know that I "waste" money on games, so they don't care much.

But waiting for any news on the anime is agonizing...

True, true! XD Well my mom doesn't mind too much but I think my dad thinks I'm a bit strange...it's funny.

And I know...I'm kind of dying here waiting for news on the anime. With the anticipation of the release of IM@S 2 now passing, I'm anxious about the anime. Although I am anxious about getting IM@S2 and the new videos.

I posted. My Japanese on it is probably horrible, though. I put an English translation too... ^^;

Producer name: Nekoneko-P
Favorite Song: Kosmos Cosmos
Reason: As an American fan, I did not learn about IM@S until last summer. I was on Youtube when I came across some IM@S videos and clicked on one. Kosmos Cosmos was the first IM@S song I listened to, and I instantly fell in love with IM@S. To this day, Kosmos Cosmos is still my favorite IM@S song.

If someone is THE illustrator for iM@S, that's is Toshiyuki Kubooka, that is still listed as the copyright holder (along with Namco Bandai) in every official image released even if is not drawn by him. He did the game covers for iM@S, L4Y and SP, and the official portraits are his work. Both Annindoufu and Tamiya emulate Kubooka style.

Annindoufu joined the iM@S project when she did the pictures for an arcade iM@S guidebook called Platinum Album, and since then she became the main illustrator for printed matter, cd covers and the mobile phone contents. None of her works appeared in-game (well, except the wallpapers in the SP games).

Kiyotaka Tamiya began as the character designer for Dearly Stars, doing all the new characters mimicking Kubooka's style. He is doing the birthday banners and is now the main illustrator for iM@S2 (i.e. the game cover and the official portraits).

Yeah that's the guy i'm referring to when i say annindoufu didn't illustrate the game, forgot to write his name.
I'd be bummed if they replace her (i just found out too  ;D) as merchandise illustrator.
I even like her drawings more then the original because annindoufu's girls are usually chubbier & cuter.  :D
