That's interesting, I thought the Futamis were more popular. But Yayoi and Makoto are my top two favorite idols, so can't complain...

I thought Miki, Azusa, or Haruka would be way more popular. On Danny Choo's poll on his personal blog, Miki was everyone's favorite character.

I saw that a while ago actually. Was kind of sad that ami/Mami were so low until I realized something.
I think the problem with Ami/Mami is that they're split in the poll, so you'd have to pick one of them to vote for as your favorite, not both. Thus their combined fans which could outnumber the others are split between the two.
