This anime could be one of those "introductory" anime, where character backgrounds need to be explained, unlike many other animes where they have light novel and manga featuring the same story backing them up with reputation (like TWGOK or Ore no Imouto)

Explaining 13 people is long enough (if Kotori is to be counted, 14 if Ami and Mami are separated), let alone explaining more than that, and squeezing in filler stories.

I'd like to have the producer as a human-shaped black shadow like usual. Moving and talking, but nothing more than a solid shadow, with a letter 'P' on his face, just like portrayed in 4-komas. LoL it will be very amusing, and unique too. Wonder if they ever thought of that?

Yeah it would probably be hard to explain 13-14 different characters. As much as I like Haruka, I hope the anime won't end up just focusing mainly on her, even if she is the "main heroine." I'd like to see more of other characters, too, because they're all unique. (I hope for some Yukiho, Makoto, Ami & Mami, and Azusa. They're my favorites. Also, some Project Fairy-961 days flashbacks.) ^^

And I sure do hope they have the Producer as his typical black silhouette. It will be funny, but I'm used to him that way. XD

It should play out like an anime where each character "has" an episode (i.e. One episode is about Haruka baking a cake, next is about Azusa getting lost, etc. etc. except with better plots) so everything is evenly spread. Despite me liking Haruka, as well as her being the "main" character, I want everyone to have fair show-time. Even the idols I don't favor as much XD

Like, I wouldn't be surprised if they did something like Haruka showing up in every epsiode (K-ON keeps coming to mind; in the second season some of the epsiodes seemed more geared toward individual characters getting show-time, but everyone showed up nonetheless). The anime seems to have promise, though :D I have faith that they can do it right...

They better hope they can pull this off correctly. This is possibly the fans' gift for the disappointments (per their standards) already seen in iDOLM@STER 2.
And if they can't pull it off...I see more broken things in our future. Quite near actually, I just broke my Haruka revoltech on accident. I shall blame it on Jupiter for the time being.

Raestloz:
I hope they don't spend too much time explaining the characters. After all, an anime that explains new character for the entire season might not has much appeal (13 episodes at most a season, unless they make it twice a week, at which point it's a win either way).

I'd rather have filler episodes (like iM@S have any canon), their work or/and everyday life. Maybe some audition or rival stuff once or twice, but we have the game to cover that.

Yeah, that sounds like the best idea. Roughly 13-14 episodes if it focuses on a character each episode, maybe? And maybe a few filler (auditions, Jupiter, flashback episodes, etc.), and then the rest following a plot. I'd like to get a full 26-episode season, but even if we get only 13 episodes there better be a second season or I will BREAK MY IM@S MERCHANDISE IN ANGER.

Not really. :3

But I do have faith that they can do a good job with this. Some fans were slightly disappointed with the IDOLM@STER2, with RK not being playable and BAWW MEN IN MY IM@S D':, but I look forward to the anime and no matter what. It may not be perfect because nothing is, but I'll love it because it's IM@S and IM@S = life. <s>and not like Xenoglossia.</s> Though Xenoglossia had its good points, I've always wanted an anime based off of the game.
