Well, the artist is Atsushi Nishigori...did art for Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, as well as (...iirc) Panty & Stocking, if you watched it. Probably some other stuff, but I don't know any.

I think the style itself is very nice when faceslide is not present and I was having a very strong "where have I seen this style before" feeling when they first started releasing anime images, as well...

I never watched TTGL but I did watch one music-video-esque thing from it, and I think from that is where my mind made the connection...*stuffs art-geekiness back into closet* I mean, wasn't TTGL pretty popular? You might've made the connection in a similar way...or you watched it...XD

Well, the artist is Atsushi Nishigori
Atsushi Nishigori is the character designer but he isn't drawing all these pictures.
There's more than one artist for the promo art, that's why one of the old pictures looks just like sora no woto, and one has foxy eyes Takane and this one looks actually good.

Oh, really? *no clue how behind-the-scenes-of-animation work*

So, please forgive the crazy questions, but he didn't literally design the characters, because someone in NBGI did that, right?...so is he getting the credit for the animator emulating his style or what? ???

Dat art!

(Wait a minute...How come Azusa's eyes are light blue? Shouldn't it be red?)

If I find a flat scan of that Ami/Azusa/Mami picture, it will be my new wallpaper (I never liked the cheer outfits much, but that picture is cute XD). Ditto goes for the Iori/Yayoi one...Too bad the Meruhen Maid one was taller than it was wide. XD I love that costume.

Also, Clear Blue, you're very right. Azusa's eyes are red. Seems odd for that kind of slip-up to be made...

blue-eyed, long-hair Azusa is a doppleganger? :<

Maybe it supposed to fit the hair-color? Dunno.

Meh. I think that the artist in question probably forgot about the eye color. Those sort of things happen, right?

Guess so, maybe someone will correct it soon.

Given I'm not a professional artist, I know things are a bit different, but...when you're drawing preexisting characters, wouldn't you make extra sure you've got it right? XD Or at very least use a reference?

Especially if your work is being published? XD

I know whenever I draw iM@S characters, I usually try to get two or three different references (just for the sake of color consistency and stuff).

Considering it's happened before, maybe it's some kind of conspiracy to change the blunettes' eye colors. oAo
