I guess that's him. Someone's moved up in the world.

It's this guy's --> 田宮清高 (anyone who's good with name kanji, feel free to decipher), who appears to be the replacement for Annindoufu, who previously illustrated the iM@S stuff.

(and please, anyone who speaks Japanese, feel free to correct me. This is all the conclusion I can come to from looking at that article with my limited knowledge, but that paragraph looks like a profile and stuff for [insert Annindoufu replacement] as a character designer).

But it doesn't look to be a guarantee that Kotori is in the anime; because if it was, Atsushi Nishigori should've drawn it. Plus Juri Takita is preggers. I don't know how much seiyuu stuff she'll be doing right now...

Wasn't annindoufu only illustrates imas merchandise, but never any part of the game?
It's still his work on master artist 2 jackets so it's unlikely that he's been replaced.

If it's true though then it's a shame. I have that brilliant idol artbook of his & i really like his art.

I'm not entirely sure on everything he did, I just know him as the illustrator for iM@S (at least up to this point). I know that, in his artbook, there are the designs for the SP DLC (prior to the fan-costume contests), so I had assumed he had done the in-game content for iM@S360 as well.

I don't know if the company ever really says anything about replacing their illustrator. And I know for sure that Mr. Tamiya Kiyotaka emulates Annindoufu's style, because it's the "iM@S" style.

It's really noticeable for the 2010 birthday banners and that Kotori sketch from the anime page that there's a different illustrator. To me, the art on the MA2 covers looks similar, but different than Annindoufu's style (the closest one, to me, is Mami's cover). Nonetheless, whether it's obviously Tamiya Kiyotaka drawing or not, it's still got that same iM@S style to it (the eyes and mouth, noticeably)

Artists' styles change over time, though as a professional illustrator, the ability to consistently draw the same is key, which is why I think that Annindoufu isn't the main illustrator anymore.

Soth:
If someone is THE illustrator for iM@S, that's is Toshiyuki Kubooka, that is still listed as the copyright holder (along with Namco Bandai) in every official image released even if is not drawn by him. He did the game covers for iM@S, L4Y and SP, and the official portraits are his work. Both Annindoufu and Tamiya emulate Kubooka style.

Annindoufu joined the iM@S project when she did the pictures for an arcade iM@S guidebook called Platinum Album, and since then she became the main illustrator for printed matter, cd covers and the mobile phone contents. None of her works appeared in-game (well, except the wallpapers in the SP games).

Kiyotaka Tamiya began as the character designer for Dearly Stars, doing all the new characters mimicking Kubooka's style. He is doing the birthday banners and is now the main illustrator for iM@S2 (i.e. the game cover and the official portraits).
