Personally, I think it'd be cool if a new song as created just for the anime OP. Which then became available for the game itself...

More DLC...I'm miserable already.

On the translation note, I would love to help if I could, but I don't think I'll be of any use.

I'd actually like that. As much as I like "THE IDOLM@STER," if they use that song for the anime OP it'll end up getting worn out. And it would be cool to see the anime OP up for game use as well. Although we'll all end up broke from more and more DLC

Yay! My comment's up on the Im@s anime page! I just had to page back like twenty pages to see it. It does read a bit awkward...

Well, some guy named Brad commented entirely in English, so I guess I don't feel too bad.

Again, we did allow posting of iM@S doujinshi, R18 or not.

I wasn't aware those doujins were official NBGI works...

Their authors have rights too, and merely scanlating without permission is already a violation of said rights.[/not sarcasm]

......But wait, I'm sorry. You were late by like, three days. We're talking about the actual anime already. Can we go back to the topic please?

here's an on-topic toss:

Does anyone else actually think that if they make new music for the anime, it shouldn't necessarily go up as DLC? Like...you want to give people a good reason that the anime can stand on its own, not that it's just content-fodder for the game...

Though, if the anime songs / (costumes?) are really good, I'd probably want them as DLC, too even though I have no money and Japanese MSP come in smaller point increments yet cost more *ramble*. But it all depends...maybe at the end of the catalog-life of iM@S2, when they start taking content from things we've already seen?

Well, this is my opinion, but the anime should be just that: A stand-alone anime that doubles as an advertisement for the game it was based of. If anything, that six months of open time before the game starts will be known to us mainly via the anime. They show us a lot of plot, and not spoil us for what's to come in-game. Namco making the anime like this is something I am not sure of, but hopefully, they'll do it like this.

I believe that they'll use some music from the game, but toss in some new ones exclusive to the anime (and the game can have music exclusive to itself). As for songs, that's a possibility. Though I might still see them end up as DLC in the not-so-far future.

Thus not only are we to pay for DLC, but official anime merchandises as well. Namco made a win-win situation for themselves. XD

That is an obvious plot Namco would pull. XD They put new stuff in it and we happen to like it, they have it up for DLC.

Use bait that the fish would bite and it'll come on its own to the hook.

I think this is the definition of how NBGI functions. oAo

Your idea for the anime plot is a good one, though I can't see the ending of that one not being a little...weird. After all, the anime would end where you pick up the game, and so that leaves a lot of possibility for an open, unfinished ending.

Where the idols suddenly get a new mystery producer XD and can only wait to see if he'll do a good job training them or not.

Well, that's sorta how people would've looked at .hack//Roots, an anime meant to be a prequel to .hack//GU. What was told there was either 1) not really crucial to GU's plot; or; 2) only given in great detail, the game could've mentioned it in like 10-20 minutes total, hence making it a total filler for the game, but plot point for the anime. And in the end, people would want to play the game just to be 'satisfied', though the anime itself is satisfactory enough.

Oh, and no bonus points for guessing which company publishes the .hack// series.

Running gag in the anime: random faceless guy comes for delivery, gets hounded by Takagi to become a producer.

Takagi: Hey, you! Yeah, you... come here for a sec. Ahh, that sparkle in your eye! That's what I like to see!
Random Dude: Uh... what? You're freaking me out.
