The problem with WS is that it is a card game with limited number of cards.
It will suits series with some main characters plus some sidekicks but it didn't go well with imas who have 12 main charas (more if you count the DS girls).
Eventually there will be ppl like you who have your fave chara relegated to support status.

IMO, the most glaring part of these are the twins.
You cant make a mono yellow deck without the twins as they handle support & attack themselves while iori & yukiho are relegated to fillers.

The shooting Azusa is costly. I had a standard music trait deck that incorporate this combo, but even so, to shoot more than once per game will put me more into the disadvantage zone instead. Even though I had no problem building up at least ten stock by then.

If you want to have Azusa in a themed deck, an option is a Missing Moon deck, pure blue. It plays better than the Azusa deck I listed then.

Below is a decklist of one of my still-active decks. It was build for a Missing Moon theme, from whatever remaining spare cards I have left that can be used.

You should be able to get a general idea of how it works. lol Quite straightforward.

Ryo deck is pretty straightforward to build. Throw in four copies of every Ryo card in the EP (including Dazzling World), and add the following:

4x IM/S07-046 U 寄り道
3x IM/S07-032 R 動物大好き響
3x IM/S07-037 U 気まぐれな美希
4x IM/S07-049 CC Next Life

The remaining ten cards is up to you. LOL

I do like it being that scattered in a way, since each card focus on only one character. The only non-PR cards to date that features more than one character in a card is IM/SE04-10 C 凸凹コンビ 涼＆夢子 and IM/SE04-20 C 明るい親子 愛＆舞. From a collector's point of view, its actually better that way.

But like you said, its not really nice to see characters you like getting slotted towards the sidelines in terms of gameplay. That I gotta admit.

And that yellow part, its true that the twins have a slightly bigger slice of the pie. But still, Iori and Yukiho decks are still form-able and playable, though, like the Azusa deck, is not exactly tournament standard. A Yukiho deck is more towards a Clothes Change deck. For now.

I've dismantled my Yukiho deck, but my Iori deck still exists. Here is the list:

Pretty playable, if you ask me. =X And, if you want, you can remove all the twins cards and the deck will still run fine. Just that without IM/S07-003 R 元気が一番 亜美＆真美, the only yellow assist, your Clothes Change will not be fully utilised. And before you start on the assist part, every colour has one level 0 standard assist. XD

Never really paid attention to Iori's cards & the only Yukiho that i like is the 2/2/8000 that gets +2000 at your turn if there's Clothes Change in the memory.

Its not that you cant make decks from iori & yukiho, but the whole yellow color is kinda support for the twins.
Not that i complains. Actually they're the most interesting decks out of all imas cards.
You pump them up and hulk smash your opponent in the face .... and then got trampled at your opponent's turn because they revert back to cute little girls.  ;D

I dont have many booster imas cards, only extrapacks. My deck is a Ryo-Ai deck.
Not too good though, need alot of luck to make the deck ran smoothly.

Heh, heh... yeah, I think a Ryou deck won a tournament somewhere, and I saw nothing but Ryou cards in the deck list. Not a lot of thought involved, I guess you just throw him down and start drop kicking people.
