lluzz:
I thought the forum is down forever so i didn't check here again until now.  ;D
Tried collecting too, but after i find out imas have lots of PRs, i quit. Some of the PRs are expensive even in auctions like the wedding dress Miki & Iori.

Wow, the you're collecting 5 series? If im not mistaken FSN have 1 extrapack & Canaan is expansion from Phantom.

Some of my loots have arrived.

Shdwfalcon:
Been some time since I came here. lol

I'm a heavy player of iM@S in WS, and despite the overpowered newer series, I still stick to neo standard iM@S (S07 + SE04 + S14). I've built and ran many kinds of iM@S decks, but my two main decks are still the blue/red defensive deck and the Futari twins deck. Not the Dearly Stars Ai or Ryo decks, surprisingly, even though I have them.

Current Collection

And even though IM/SE04 has only three yellow cards, the twins card is useful in most decks, and the Yukiho 1/0 backup is very handy in an Ai deck. The Iori card, however, is another matter. lol

There's a few kinds of yellow decks possible. I've made and ran an Iori deck, a Clothes Change deck, a yellow/red soul rush + salvaging deck, and even a Yukiho deck, but the only one that stands strong is the Futari twins deck. During its time, its packed full of power AND soul, and is something to watch out for. Now, however, I was forced to mod it to focus on soul damage as its power level cannot match the newer series.

For a red/blue Haruka/Chihaya deck, its more towards a defensive deck, one which can hit fairly high power levels with backup supports on opponent's turns. My current deck can easily reach 8500 at level one with backup, and that is against players who are generally aware of my characters' abilities. If push comes to shove, with a full level one front row, I can set the support up to rev one of them up to 10000 power after counter step, and that's not even involving the RR Haruka. At level two, I've ever pushed one of my character up to 15500 power during counter step. But usually, the general power level hovers around 12000 to 14000 after backup. And the best part? This deck is versatile enough to allow some form of card control for your hand, stock, and even library.

If you are interested in my deck lists, let me know. But be reminded that my decks are tuned to my playstyles, so you might have to retune the list to suit your own playstyle.

So, that's a question I had. What's the difference between Neo-Standard and Standard? I get the feeling Neo-Standard is restricted to one series, but that's only the feeling I get.

I remember wondering how an Azusa-centric deck would work, though. I thought about it for a while, then I realized I didn't actually own any of the cards. I then thought about why I thought about it so much. ^^;

Shdwfalcon:
You are correct.

Neo Standard is a series restriction for deck builds. For example, IM/S07 (iM@S) can mix with IM/SE04 (iM@S Dearly Stars) and is still considered a Neo Standard deck, since its considered under the same series. Other examples are Persona 3 with Persona 4, Little Busters with Little Busters Ecstasy and Kud Wafter, etc.

Standard is where no series restriction are imposed for deck builds. You can mix cards from any series together into a deck, and a Standard tournament will still accept your deck.

Take note, as some cards are banned ONLY in Neo Standard, and vice versa.

Right now, a deck around Azusa is, I would say, not very strong. She has like only two useful staple cards (IM/S07-078R 癒し系あずさ & IM/S07-085U ゆっくりのんびり あずさ), but to make her as the "main character" in the deck, her cards are a little lacking.

If you are really interested, here's a sample:

I went for single colour (blue) for this sample, to make things simpler and more Azusa-focused. The biggest problem is stock and hand size. IM/S07-080R 三浦 あずさ's change is pay 3 stock discard one card, just to pull out a level 2 7500 power. A level 2's base power is at 9000. Despite the drop encore ability and the opponent's turn power boost, it still doesn't really help you maintain your hand or field for long.

However, the support choice is rather simplified, since once you reach level 1 onwards, your main support is IM/SE04-33C 夢を想う あずさ; you do not have any level 3. You can opt for a IM/S07-078R 癒し系あずさ for power boost, or a IM/S07-079R 研究熱心 律子 for counter power, or just have two IM/SE04-33C 夢を想う あずさ in your backrow.

For a fan/fun deck, its perfectly playable, you have to play quite defensively and tactically. Tournament level-wise, however, I won't recommend this. If you insist, do wait for iM@S2 (IM/S14) to be released. Hopefully then, there will be better Azusa cards.

Cael K.:
Yeah, that's what I kinda feared. They didn't look that strong at first glance, so she seemed relegated to the Lv. 1 Chihaya combo and support. I thought her power pump (夢を想うあずさ) was completely overshadowed by Ritsuko's, but I guess you can get that out a level earlier when I look at it. At best, I thought Climax synergy bounce, but just off hand, that seemed a bit hard to pull off.

Eventually, I drifted off to splicing in a lot of Ryou, and a little bit of... everyone that appeared in his scenario (if only two Level 0's). It was just a mental exercise in the end, but I think it was fun thematically - Azusa appears in Ryou's scenario, so just stick in everybody that did in some form or another and poof. Instant theme deck. I remember Azusa, Yumeko, and Ryou were mains. Moe Moe Gyaon, or something.

Now you got me thinking about a game I can't play. Dang it. ^^;
